All Crusade Map Icons in Cult of the Lamb

In Cult of the Lamb, Crusades are made up of randomly created areas. Players can choose which types of areas to visit using the crusade map, but the map only shows symbols for each area type. There’s no in-game explanation of what these symbols mean. This guide will explain every symbol on the crusade map in Cult of the Lamb, helping you find the areas you want to explore.

This guide has three parts. The first explains the large diamond shapes you’ll see on the crusade map. The next two sections cover the smaller icons that appear under those diamonds.

All Crusade Map Symbols in Cult of the Lamb

This explains the symbols you’ll find on the crusade map and what each one represents.

Symbol Area Type Description
Combat Combat areas consist of a series of rooms that players must fight through. A banner with an icon may appear beneath the combat area symbol, and the meanings of those icons are detailed in the Combat Area Modifier section below.
Shop Players can purchase or obtain various items from shop areas. The types of items that are available in the area are represented by the icon beneath the shop area symbol, and the meanings of those icons are detailed in the Shop Area Modifier section below.
Cotton An area filled with Cotton.
Food An area filled with Food items, such as Berries and Pumpkins.
Grape An area filled with Grapes.
Hops An area filled with Hops.
Lumber An area filled with Lumber.
Stone An area filled with Stone.
Hearts These areas provide opportunities to refill Red Hearts and earn Blue Hearts.
Follower Players can gain a Follower in this area.
Tarot Players can pick a tarot card in this area.
Random Event This area features random events, which can lead to buffs, debuffs, gold and resource rewards, and even the opportunity to increase a Follower’s loyalty.
Red Shrine This area is home to a red shrine, and players can pray at it to prevent the loss of items if they happen to die during the crusade.
Boss Players will encounter the crusade’s boss at the end of this area. This symbol will transform into a Bishop symbol when one is available.

Combat Area Modifiers in Cult of the Lamb

Sometimes, you’ll see a banner with an icon below the battle symbol on the crusade map. Here’s what those icons mean:

Icon Description
Chests award additional gold.
Chests drop Food instead of gold.
Enemies have half health, but you take double damage.

Shop Area Modifiers in Cult of the Lamb

As we mentioned before, you can tell which items are currently in stock in shops by looking at the icon under their image. Here’s what those icons represent:

Icon Description
This shop has one free Food item or seed.
This shop sells a Follower, or provides one for free.
Players can get a free Decoration blueprint, Follower form, or Gift/Commandment Stone Fragment in this shop. It also sells the Ambrosia tarot card, which increases Curse damage, for 50 Gold.
This shop has a free Relic.
This shop sells a random Robe blueprint for five Gold Bars.
