All Factions in Stalker 2

As a seasoned Stalker, who’s ventured through the treacherous expanse of the Zone more times than I can remember, I must say that the faction system in Stalker 2 is as intriguing as it is complex. The sheer number of factions to navigate, from the Bandits lurking in Zaton and Yanov, to the enigmatic Monolith nestled in Pripyat, leaves one feeling a tad overwhelmed.

In the realm known as the Zone in Stalker 2, every inhabitant is part of a particular group or alliance. To thrive amidst the chaotic environment of this game, it’s crucial to identify who your allies and adversaries are. Unlike many other Role-Playing Games (RPGs), alliances don’t dominate the gameplay as much in Stalker 2, but you’ll still need to interact with them during the main storyline.

The faction system is surprisingly simple, albeit poorly communicated. Choosing which side to support can be either beneficial or detrimental, and if you’ll generally want to avoid getting on the nerves of the biggest players in the Zone. Here’s a list of all Stalker 2 factions as well as some nuggets of information that you may want to know.

In the Zone, a total of twelve different groups are present, each with its own motives for contending over resources and territories. Throughout the narrative, players will progressively come across these factions, and at times, they might be presented with significant choices to make – similar to the Warlock’s Debtor quest found in Stalker 2. Here is a rundown of all the factions and their known operational bases.

Factions usually follow specific themes, though this mostly matters because their respective merchants tend to sell equipment that’s commonly used by their members. If you want more NATO equipment like the AR416 and other guns that use 5.56mm ammo, then visit Freedom in Dark Valley or Rostok. If you prefer Warsaw Pact weapons like the AKM74S, visit Duty or Loner bases.

Certain groups maintain long-standing conflicts and partnerships among themselves. For instance, Loners frequently collaborate with Ecologists, yet they are despised by Bandits. Since the initial game, Duty and Freedom have been at odds, and the Military generally has a hostile stance towards everyone except these two factions and other government entities.

Can You Join Factions In Stalker 2?

In essence, players will find themselves engaging with every faction somehow, and if they don’t immediately view you as an enemy, it’s highly probable that you can collaborate with them. To build friendships, players can assist factions by completing tasks for them; the more jobs completed successfully, the higher their opinion of you will be. However, should you fail missions or harm any faction members, tensions could rise. This may lead to faction members attacking you, or even causing traders to inflate prices on goods and services in Stalker 2, making gear repairs and upgrades a challenging endeavor.

The color of NPC icons on the map can give you an idea about your relationship with a particular faction. Green indicates a positive reputation, while red signifies a negative one. If the icon is white, it means the faction is neutral towards you. Additionally, the voice lines of NPCs will change depending on their faction’s opinion of you.
