What Are the Best Flaws in The Outer Worlds 2?

Because flaws affect you differently depending on how you play, some are more helpful than others. There are a few particularly good flaws that give you a boost without being too problematic. Here’s a list to help you decide which ones to take when you encounter them.

Consumerism

You’ll see a 10% decrease in how much you sell items for, but the 15% discount on purchases more than compensates for that. You’ll consistently earn plenty of money through completing missions and side quests, so you won’t have financial difficulties. Keep in mind that the discount gets better as you advance, but the best gear will naturally cost more.

Dangerously Curious

If you enjoy hacking, the Dangerously Curious perk is a great choice. It gives you 100% more XP from hacking, letting you level up quickly. Plus, Bypass Shunts are common and affordable, so doubling your usage won’t break the bank.

Dependent

After playing a lot of The Outer Worlds 2, I’ve noticed that companions consistently rush into fights. This encourages a playstyle where you, especially if you prefer ranged weapons, hang back and provide support. Let your companions take the lead and deal damage – particularly if they have skills focused on attacking – while you eliminate enemies from a distance. This approach effectively gives you a 15% damage increase overall.

Overprepared

Getting into the habit of reloading after each kill, or before your magazine is empty, should become second nature. Because of this, the potential for dealing less damage isn’t a concern. Plus, a larger magazine is really helpful when fighting multiple enemies at once, making this a clear advantage.

To get all the achievements and trophies in The Outer Worlds 2, you need to choose at least three flaws when playing the game. The ‘Flawed Hero’ achievement is specifically earned by accepting three flaws during your playthrough.
