All Freedom Wars Remastered Weapon Types

In Freedom Wars Remastered, players are given the flexibility to select and carry two preferred weapons prior to commencing an Operation. From a selection of six distinct weapon categories, players can freely mix and match their choices to tailor their character according to their preferred playstyle.

Among the half-dozen weapon categories, certain ones possess exclusive abilities when powered up. These include three types of firearms and three hand-to-hand combat weapons, all of which can be tailored to suit your style. Below is a rundown of the primary weapon groups and their distinctive traits:

1. Energy Rifle: This futuristic weapon charges up to unleash a powerful blast that penetrates multiple targets.
2. Plasma Pistol: A handheld firearm capable of rapid-fire bursts, it overheats when used excessively but can be cooled down for continued use.
3. Laser Sword: A melee weapon that requires charging before striking, it delivers a devastating blow once fully powered.
4. Energy Axe: A versatile melee weapon with the ability to chop through obstacles as well as enemies when charged up.
5. Plasma Cannon: A heavy artillery piece ideal for area denial, it takes time to charge but can deal massive damage upon firing.
6. Gauntlet: A simple yet effective hand-to-hand combat weapon that becomes electrified when charged, shocking opponents on contact.

Every Weapon Type In Freedom Wars Remastered

In total, there are six distinct weapon categories available. You’ll have the opportunity to acquire new weapons by successfully completing missions or through direct purchase from Zakka’s store in The Warren. Unlike your Comrades’ weapons, you have the freedom to customize your Accessory’s equipment as desired. You can easily swap out weapons or adjust your Accessory’s equipment at any time, with no advantages or disadvantages associated with frequent switching or repeated use of the same weapons. The six weapon categories are:

Weapon Type Traits
Light Melee Quick attacks that are good for faster playstyles and only hitting one enemy. Can sever Abductor limbs without needing a Flare Knife.
Heavy Melee Wide arcing attacks that deal a lot of damage. Well-placed attacks can hit multiple limbs of Abductors to deal multiplied damage as if hitting them multiple times. Charged attacks can also launch you in the air at the end of your combo. Slightly slows your movement speed when equipped.
Polearm Most attacks have you charge through enemies to keep you moving away from incoming attacks. Charged-up attacks will throw your polearm for huge amounts of damage from a safe range.
Assault Weapons High total ammo carry capacity making it ideal as a primary weapon for gun-focused builds. Can be shot when grappled with your Thorne letting you get better angles or shoot from a safe distance.
Portable Artillery High single-shot damage with a low overall ammo carry capacity. Explosive AOE shots that can also hit multiple limbs to deal more damage at once. Slows your movement speed when equipped.
Autocannons High rate of fire with a large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots don’t deal a lot of damage but the high rate of fire greatly makes up for that. Slows your movement speed when equipped.

Unlike the player, your accessory won’t have to worry about ammo when using gun weapons.
