Heartopia’s Winter Frost Season brings new, limited-time fish called Frostspore Fish! If you want to collect them, you’ll need to fish for them before the season is over. This guide will show you everything you need to know about catching these icy creatures in Heartopia.
All Frostspore Fish in Heartopia
The Winter Frost event introduces five Frostspore Fish to catch. These are ordinary fish that have been changed by the exceptionally cold water around Heartopia. They aren’t harmful, but they have a noticeable, frozen look that sets them apart from regular fish.
The names of the currently available Frostspore Fish are:
- Frostspore King Crab
- Frostspore Ocean Sunfish
- Frostspore Puffer Fish
- Frostspore Seahorse
The fifth Frostspore Fish will unlock in Week 2 of the event.
To start catching Frostspore Fish, first talk to Vanya, the fishing expert. She’ll be on the north beach of Onsen Mountain for a limited time during the event. She’ll give you a quick quest to kick off the Winter Frost Season. After you finish that quest, Frostspore Fish will become available and start appearing in the Old Sea.
How to Catch Frostspore Fish in Heartopia
Frostspore Fish in Heartopia are different from other fish – they don’t follow the normal fishing rules. You can only catch them in one specific location: the Old Sea, which is just off the coast of Onsen Mountain. These special fish only appear in this area, so you won’t find them anywhere else.
Frostspore Fish are really easy to catch because they’re available throughout the entire day, no matter the weather. You only need to reach Fishing Level 1 to start catching them!
Frostspore Fish are perfect for players just starting out or those who want to enjoy the Winter Frost Season without needing to spend a lot of time leveling up their fishing skills.
Frostspore Fish aren’t as hard to find as some other rare fish, but you won’t catch them as often as regular fish. While you can eventually find them by fishing in random shadowy spots, using Mermaid Fish Attractors is the fastest way to get one.
Mermaid Fish Attractors help you find more fish by making several fish appear at the same time, greatly improving your chances of catching one or two Frostspore Fish during each fishing trip. They don’t guarantee you’ll catch anything, but they can save you a lot of time if you’re trying to collect all the different types of fish.
