All Gears of War Reloaded COG Tag Locations

Similar to the original game, Gears of War: Reloaded’s story campaign doesn’t provide a lot of additional content, which results in it being surprisingly brief. There is one type of collectible, however; players can search for 33 COG Tags hidden throughout the game within its five main acts.

Locating all COG Tags within “Gears of War: Reloaded” will grant players not only three Achievements but also 33 in-game comic books. Areas with COG Tags are often marked by a nearby Crimson Omen graffiti, although these red skull symbols can sometimes be hard to spot, just like the tags themselves.

In the game Gears of War: Reloaded, the COG Tags are positioned similarly to their locations in earlier versions of the game. As a result, players who are familiar with the game will likely know right away where to search for them.

COG Tag #1 Location – 14 Years After E-Day (1)

In the beginning of Act 1, players are given the option to select a direction. No matter which path they choose, they’ll encounter a Crimson Omen displayed on a wooden table in the subsequent area. The initial group of COG tags will be found nearby, specifically to the right side of the omen on the floor.

COG Tag #2 Location – 14 Years After E-Day (2)

Shortly after gathering the initial COG tags, players will make their way into the prison blocks and encounter enemy locusts who have barricaded themselves within. They’ll break through a door to gain entry, then fight off these enemies. Once the area is cleared, players should search for a Crimson Omen symbol painted on one of the stone pillars. The COG Tags will be found situated to the right of this very same pillar.

COG Tag #3 Location – 14 Years After E-Day (3)

About 14 years post E-Day, players will eventually arrive at a courtyard featuring some stairs on the left side. At the summit of these steps, they will notice a Crimson Omen graffiti on the wall. For their third collection, players can find COG Tags hidden in the left corner, by following the pathway that curves around.

COG Tag #4 Location – Trial By Fire (1)

At the beginning of Trial By Fire, players will step into a courtyard with a Crimson Omen situated at the back left side. The initial group of COG tags for this chapter is hidden behind a wall near the omen. A member of Marcus’ squad will reveal its location once the area has been made safe from enemies.

COG Tag #5 Location – Trial By Fire (2)

Shortly after, the players will make their way into a building and find a few mysterious openings. Just beyond the second such opening, you’ll discover the second group of Trial By Fire COG tags hidden under a nearby window.

COG Tag #6 Location – Fish in a Barrel

In the “Fish in a Barrel” section, players work on sealing various entrances scattered across a spacious courtyard featuring a fountain at its heart. Once all these entryways are secured, they can then pick up some COG tags located near a heap of rubble in one of the courtyard’s corners.

COG Tag #7 Location – Knock Knock

In the opening scene of the Knock Knock chapter, there’s a massive gunfight. Prior to ascending the stairs, players are advised to search for a white van adorned with the symbol of Crimson Omen to their left. To the side of this van, you’ll find a group of COG Tags on the steps.

COG Tag #8 Location – Hammer (1)

At the start of the Hammer chapter, players are tasked with shielding Jack as he opens a door while being surrounded by Wretches. After successfully completing this task, they should proceed in the direction where the Wretches initially appeared, and search for a group of COG Tags on the ground to their right side.

COG Tag #9 Location – Hammer (2)

Near the closing stages of the chapter, players will stumble upon a church, within which lies the remains of Rojas. They’ll uncover his COG Tags hidden in a secluded corner close by.

COG Tag #10 Location – China Shop (1)

The story commences in China Shop, where Gyules meets an unfortunate and violent end at the hands of a Berserker. After regaining their composure, players should circle around the spot where he was slain and retrieve his COG Tags located nearby.

COG Tag #11 Location – China Shop (2)

To overcome the Berserker, players must trick it into smashing three doors first. Once they’ve passed through the third door, they should search for a collection of COG Tags located on the wall to their left before proceeding further.

If players have gathered all the COG Tags leading up to this stage, they will earn the “Time to Remember” Trophy/Achievement now. Yet, another group of COG Tags remains hidden within Act 1 for players to find.

COG Tag #12 Location – China Shop (3)

Following the Berserker out, now’s the moment to eliminate it. Prior to engaging, players should circumnavigate the wall to their left and search for a Crimson Omen. As usual, COG Tags are in close proximity. Remember to pick them up before defeating the Berserker, as the chapter concludes promptly after the second Hammer of Justice blast.

COG Tag #13 Location – Grist (1)

At the beginning of the chapter, right after Tick Tick Boom concludes, you’ll find the initial Grist COG Tags. Before proceeding through the door as directed, take a detour: go down the steps nearby and leap over the big stone blocks. The COG Tags are situated next to a red couch.

COG Tag #14 Location – Grist (2)

Towards the end of the chapter, adventurers will navigate through a manufacturing facility and subsequently descend a series of metal staircases into an alley. Upon reaching this point, they should turn around and search for some COG Tags hidden under the very same steps they have just descended.

COG Tag #15 Location – Grist (3)

Towards the closing of this chapter, adventurers will eventually come across the long-sought settlement that has been eluding them. Just prior to reaching the entrance, keep an eye out for a distinctive Crimson Signal on the wall to your left. As usual, there’ll be some COG Identification Tags in the vicinity.

COG Tag #16 Location – Lethal Dusk (1)

Shortly following the deaths of the team members at Checkpoint 1 by the Kryll, Marcus will instruct Dom to eliminate every propane tank he encounters. Upon completing this task, players should search for a shack to their left. Once they’ve shot the propane tank in the doorway, they can enter the shack to discover a set of COG Tags.

COG Tag #17 Location – Lethal Dusk (2)

Further in the chapter, you’ll find a moment when players must employ a flashlight to guide Dom as he traverses an unlit street. After Dom has safely crossed and reactivated the lights, direct the flashlight towards the vehicle close to where they initially entered the zone. This action will enable them to exit again and pick up another batch of COG Tags.

COG Tag #18 Location – Dark Labyrinth

In Dark Labyrinth, players traverse a house and then find themselves outside, where there’s a car containing a propane tank. To advance the plot, they must aim at this tank. However, before shooting, it’s advisable to turn right and snatch the nearby COG Tags. This action should be performed prior to detonating the propane tank, as once it explodes, players won’t be able to climb back up the hill.

COG Tag #19 Location – Downpour

In Act 3, the characters start their journey by searching for entry into the factory. Along the way, they encounter several numbered buildings on their right, one of which bears a Crimson Omen symbol. By circling around building three, they can discover a metal dock, where the sole collection of COG Tags found in Downpour awaits at its end.

COG Tag #20 Location – Evolution (1)

During approximately halfway through the game’s progression, the players will encounter a room with unreliable flooring. By navigating towards the rear and right-hand corner of this room, they can discover a collection of COG Tags nestled beside a metallic pipe.

COG Tag #21 Location – Evolution (2)

Players will eventually reach the Cart Control Room during evolution. Prior to engaging with the console located on the right, they should first proceed down the stairway towards the mine cart. Near the stairs, you’ll find some COG Tags.

Instead of attempting to collect the Evolution COG Tags from the second set following your interaction with the console and initiation of the Coalition Cargo chapter, it’s advisable to gather them earlier to avoid advancing the story prematurely by getting too near the mine cart.

COG Tag #22 Location – Darkest Before Dawn (1)

Shortly after beginning Darkest Before Dawn, players encounter a fork in the road. Instead of choosing the path that dips down to the left, they should opt for the one heading right instead. This direction will lead them towards a building adorned with the symbol of the Crimson Omen. Upon arrival, players will notice a scattered group of COG Tags directly before the building’s entrance.

If players have collected all the “COG Tags” for the game “Gears of War: Reloaded,” particularly those found in the mission named “Darkest Before Dawn,” they will be rewarded with the “Honor-Bound Trophy / Achievement” upon gathering the initial set of tags.

COG Tag #23 Location – Darkest Before Dawn (2)

Later in the chapter, players encounter a moment where they’ll glide down a slope. Following this, they’ll find themselves engaged in combat against numerous enemies, situated within an area featuring a flowing stream. On the right side of this combat zone, there’s another structure adorned with a Crimson Omen symbol, and nearby, you’ll notice some COG Tags.

COG Tag #24 Location – Darkest Before Dawn (3)

Towards the game’s climax in Darkest Before Dawn, players will face a crucial decision: should they follow the path on the left or the one on the right. Shortly after reuniting with their companion, they’ll venture into a cave. Upon entering, Dom and Marcus will spot a Corpser nearby. The last group of COG Tags for this chapter can be found to the right of the cave entrance, immediately following Marcus’s first mention of the Corpser.

COG Tag #25 Location – Campus Grinder

Campus Grinder starts off with players initially clearing out an expansive courtyard teeming with adversaries. To discover the chapter’s COG Tags, they should ascend the ledge situated to the right of their initial position and then maintain a tight proximity to that same wall. The COG Tags can be found near a modest flight of stairs.

COG Tag #26 Location – Bad to Worse

In this chapter’s opening, the challenging COG Tags stand out clearly. Be on the lookout for a scarlet symbol embellished on the wall ahead, and you’ll find the COG Tags positioned to its right, not far from an old, battered vehicle.

COG Tag #27 Location – Imaginary Place

As players traverse the lower level of Fenix Estate, they’ll encounter a library. Hidden under a desk in this room are some COG Tags. To collect these, players must resort to physical attacks and break the desk apart.

COG Tag #28 Location – Comedy of Errors

Shortly following the act of turning a red valve to smother the flames, players will enter a garden locale. Ahead and slightly to their left, they’ll encounter the Crimson Omen near a partially open gate. Beyond this gate, they can discover a collection of COG Tags nestled next to an ammo box, along with some frag grenades.

COG Tag #29 Location – Window Shopping

As a gamer, I embark on my window shopping adventure by scouring a towering multi-level parking structure. Instead of climbing my way to the rooftop, I choose to descend the stairs hidden among the columns. Down here, I’ll stumble upon the COG Tags that mark the start of this chapter’s quest, nestled within the stairwell’s nooks and crannies.

COG Tag #30 Location – Jurassic Proportions

In colossal encounters, players will eventually face the Brumak that has been pursuing them throughout the act. Prior to engaging with it, they are advised to circumnavigate it and search for a Crimson Omen on the outskirts of the combat zone. Hidden behind one of the nearby obstacles, you’ll find a collection of COG Tags. Just like in the Berserker boss fight earlier, players should collect these tags before defeating the Brumak, as they will no longer be accessible once it has been vanquished.

COG Tag #31 Location – Train Wreck (1)

At the outset of Train Wreck, gamers will initially encounter a Berserker as Jack unlocks a door. Upon opening the door, they are advised to proceed through it and search to their left for the chapter’s inaugural collection of COG Tags.

COG Tag #32 Location – Train Wreck (2)

Approximately midway through the chapter, players encounter a point where they must ascend a ladder to reach some chain guns located on the rooftop. Prior to this climb, it’s advisable for them to secure the COG Tags situated on the right side of the wagon first.

COG Tag #33 Location – Train Wreck (3)

During Train Wreck, players encounter two instances where they must press a button to eject metal cylinders from the train’s side. Following the discharge of the second batch of cylinders, players should search for a Crimson Omen on the wall to their left. After finding it, they should move along the wall and curve back to the left, which will guide them into the train carriage. Once there, all that remains is to press another green button and collect the last batch of Gears of War: Reloaded COG Tags from the other side of the door.

As a dedicated gamer immersed in this game, I’d say if you’ve diligently followed this walkthrough, you should have just earned the “For the Fallen” Trophy/Achievement.
