All High on Life 2 Fishing Spots Guide

In High on Life 2, fishing is a fun side activity. As you explore your spaceship, you’ll notice an empty aquarium in the middle. If you approach it, SuitO will mention that you can collect fish – and other strange creatures – throughout the game.

First, you’ll need a fishing rod. You’ll also need one if you want to find the special B.A.L.L. Gun in High on Life 2, which is hidden at one of the fishing spots in the Circuit Arcadia Zoo. This guide will show you where to find all the fishing spots in High on Life 2 and help you catch the Gatlian fish you need from each location.

How to Get the Fishing Rod in High on Life 2

You can find the Gatlian ‘Rod’ at the beach in Pinkline Harbor. Look for a fisherman standing opposite the Pinkline Panacea cruise ship – it’s where you investigated the murder of Larry Pinkstock. You’ll need to talk to him to get it.

Okay, so I just found out Old Man Hemlock’s boat went down right near the shore. Luckily, I can use Travis’s Trick Shot to pull it up! Once I get the boat out of the water, he promised to give me his prized fishing rod – looks like I’m going fishing!

How to Fish in High on Life 2

If you find a deck chair with a fishing rod, that’s a good place to fish! Press the button that appears to begin the fishing mini-game. You’ll see buttons on the bottom-right of the screen to cast your line and reel it in.

Before you start fishing, consider where you’re aiming. You can catch three different types of fish:

  • Blacked-out fish indicate that you’ve caught this one before.
  • Blue fish with a sparkle above them are fish that you haven’t caught before, but are easier to catch.
  • Gold fish with a sparkle above them are fish you haven’t caught before, but are harder to catch.

To collect all the unique fish in High on Life 2 as fast as possible, focus on those with sparkles over their heads. When you’ve picked a fish and started reeling it in slowly to attract its attention, it will eventually bite. Once it does, keep reeling until a new button appears, signaling you can move to the next part of the mini-game.

A small green circle will appear within a larger one. Your goal is to keep the white dolphin icon contained within the smaller, green circle, while making sure it doesn’t go past the larger circle’s red border. The longer you can keep the dolphin inside the smaller circle, the faster it will be caught – and be aware that the yellow fish tend to move around more quickly. We discovered it was simpler to control the game using a controller rather than the keyboard (WASD).

Okay, so if I manage to keep the dolphin swimming inside the little circle for long enough – and don’t let it get away! – both circles will turn green and I’ll see a ‘Fish Caught!’ message. Then, the game will tell me all about the fish I just caught and how many different kinds I still need to find in that area.

All High on Life 2 Fishing Spots

High on Life 2 features eight different places to fish, and you can collect 37 unique fish species to display in your aquarium. You’ll find two fishing spots in Circuit Arcadia, and three each at the Circuit Arcadia Zoo and Pinkline Harbor.

To access this, you first need to unlock the Circuit Arcadia Zoo in the game’s story. You’ll be able to fully explore it after completing the ‘Dinner With Your Mom’ mission and saving your dad from the Ego Chamber.

Collect all of them to unlock the ‘Tanks for the Memories’ achievement! Here’s where to find everything:

Pinkline Harbor

  • Start precisely at the place you picked up the fishing rod for the first spot.
  • Northwest of the first spot is another one on a small island closer to the cruise ship. You’ll need to jump and grind with your skateboard to get there.
  • At the end of the pier on the way to boarding the Pinkline Panacea.

Circuit Arcadia

  • In the middle of the bridge in the far eastern area, unlocked in the mission that takes you to Circuit Arcadia Zoo.
  • On the opposite side of the map, at the bottom of the steps leading up to Rhea Pharmaceuticals. It’s hidden and to the right of the steps as you’re facing them.

Circuit Arcadia Zoo

  • In the southeastern corner of the map, southwest of the Human Exhibit. This is where you get the B.A.L.L. Guy.
  • Immediately west of the previous spot, near a skating spot.
  • Right in the center of the map, on a rocky outcrop.
