All Mask Shard Locations In Silksong

Hollow Knight: Silksong features many collectibles, including Mask Shards. These shards are hidden throughout the game, and collecting them is a great way to increase Hornet’s health. This guide will show you the location of every Mask Shard in Silksong.

Hollow Knight: Silksong features a total of 20 Mask Shards. Collecting these shards increases Hornet’s maximum health to 10 HP. Once all 20 shards are found, players will earn the “Masked” achievement, helping them reach 100% game completion.

Here are the details of all 20 Mask Shard locations in Silksong.

Mask Shard Location #1 – Bone Bottom

You can purchase the first Mask Shard from the shopkeeper at Bone Bottom camp soon after Hornet departs from Moss Grotto. It costs 300 Geo, which might be expensive early in the game.

Mask Shard Location #2 – Deep Docks

You can find the next Mask Shard on the edge of The Marrow and Deep Docks, just north of the Bellway fast travel location.

Mask Shard Location #3 – Far Fields

The initial Mask Shard in Far Fields is concealed and can only be acquired once Hornet receives the Drifter’s Cloak. Getting this cloak involves finishing the Flexile Spines quest in *Silksong*.

Start at the Seamstress’ Balloon and head to the right until you find an upward wind current. Ride that current, then use another one to reach the cliff.

From the cliff, you’ll notice some platforms with rocks that are on fire. Strike the glowing rocks to create an upward wind, and continue hitting them until you can access the secret passage on the left.

Continue performing the same action until Hornet is positioned under the explosive rock above. Use the upward wind to gain height, then strike the rock to bring it down.

The explosion will reveal the Mask Shard under the ground.

Mask Shard Location #4 – Wormways

In *Silksong*, start at the Wormways Simple Key door. Go down to the water and look for a wall you can break on the right side. Breaking it will uncover a Mask Shard.

Mask Shard Location #5 – Shellwood

If you head east from where you learn the Cling Grip in *Silksong*, you’ll find a challenging platforming section. Successfully completing it will reward you with a Mask Shard.

Mask Shard Location #6 – Songclave (Choral Chambers)

Once you rescue Jubilana during The Wandering Merchant quest in *Silksong*, you can buy a Mask Shard from them for 750 Rosary Beads.

Mask Shard Location #7 – Whispering Vault

As a big fan of *Silksong*, I remember figuring out how to get the Whispering Vault map, and this Mask Shard is hidden in a really similar way! You have to have Hornet strike the ceiling – it unlocks a secret path upwards. It’s one of those clever little puzzles the game throws at you!

Go to the area just south of the bench. Then, repeatedly strike the ceiling until a ladder lowers. Use the ladder to climb up, and then break the box that’s blocking the entrance to the room above.

Once you’re up there, climb onto the box from the right, and then go left to discover the Whispering Vaults Mask Shard.

Mask Shard Location #8 – Cogwork Core

After receiving the quest for the Threefold Melody in *Silksong*, drop down the opening in the floor and continue downwards until you see a passage to the left. Follow it west, and you’ll eventually enter an arena battle. Once that’s finished, the Mask Shard is located further down the hall.

If you go north before this arena battle, you can find the place to use the Cogheart in Silksong.

Mask Shard Location #9 – Savage Beastfly Quest

If you make a wish on the Bellhart Wishwall promising to defeat the Savage Beastfly, you’ll receive a Mask Shard. You can find the Beastfly in the same area where you battled the Fourth Chorus boss in *Silksong*.

Mask Shard Location #10 – Far Fields Skull Cave

You can find this Mask Shard once you’ve learned the Clawline skill in *Silksong*. From where you meet the Seamstress, continue traveling east until you come to an area with an unexplored section to the north. Then, use your special ability unlocked in Act 2 to get into the skull-shaped cave.

Mask Shard Location #11 – Weavenest Atla

In *Silksong*, after warping to the bottom of Weavenest Atla, use Double Jump to get onto the wall. Continue jumping along the wall to the right until you find an opening that leads downwards. Then, drop down.

I remember finding a hidden wall near the bottom – it crumbled when I hit it, leading to a room all about ‘The Marrow’! It had a really cool parkour course, and if you can complete it, you’re rewarded with a piece of a Mask Shard. It was a fun little challenge!

Mask Shard Location #12 – Bilewater

From either the Putrified Ducts in the north or the Bilewater Bellway in the south, locate a way to reach the tall, vertical room directly above where “Bilewater” is written on the map.

There will be a long hall heading east, which has a Mask Shard at the end of it.

Mask Shard Location #13 – The Slab

To find the Mask Shard in The Slab, players need to obtain the Key of Apostate in *Silksong* first. Then, they can use the key to unlock the door at the top of the prison.

Mask Shard Location #14 – Mount Fay

Once you’ve learned the Double Jump on Mount Fay, go back to the bench located on the southwest side. Look for a ruined tower to its left, and go inside to find the Mask Shard.

Mask Shard Location #15 – Wisp Thicket

Find the hidden route to reach the Wisp Thicket in Silksong (from Greymoor).

Go straight to the bench, then climb up to continue to the right. You’ll need to keep moving through the murky water until you find a spot to jump onto. Bounce off the walls, and the Mask Shard will be on your left.

Mask Shard Location #16 – Brightvein

You can find the next five Mask Shards by unlocking the secret third area in *Silksong*. Start by locating the hidden room named Brightvein within Mount Fay.

Use to reach the opening in the ceiling, then destroy the ice until you can go right.

Enter Brightvein and complete the platforming test to reach the top, where the Mask Shard is.

Mask Shard Location #17 – Sprintmaster Swift Reward

In *Silksong*, first accept the “Fastest in Pharloom” quest from Sprintmaster Swift. Then, head to the far east side of Far Fields to find him. If you beat him in the race three times, he’ll give you a Mask Shard.

Mask Shard Location #18 – Dark Hearts Quest

Complete the Dark Hearts quest from Bellhart Wishwall to get the 18th Mask Shard in Silksong.

Mask Shard Location #19 – The Hidden Hunter

The Hidden Hunter quest in Silksong is the third Hunt mission that gives a Mask Shard as its reward.

Mask Shard Location #20 – Blasted Steps

Head back to Blasted Steps. You’ll find Hornet still in Pharloom, but instead of trying to leave, use her to unlock a secret room located above. This room contains the last piece of the Mask in *Silk Song*.
