While exploring Palaces is a key way to get stronger in Persona 5 Royal, you’ll also find yourself helping people with requests. These requests, found in Mementos, aren’t required for the main story, but they’re essential for building relationships with your Confidants. As the Phantom Thieves become more well-known, Mementos expands, so it’s a good idea to check it regularly when Joker has some free time.

Side quests in Persona 5 Royal work a little differently than other tasks. You don’t pick them from a menu; they start automatically when Joker figures out who’s behind the problem. Many of these requests come from Mishima, while others become available as you build relationships with characters (Confidants) to around Rank 7 or 8. There are more than 20 Mementos Requests in Persona 5, and even more in Persona 5 Royal, so here’s a complete list and how to unlock them all.

All Mementos Request Dates, Rewards, and More in Persona 5

Mementos will become available on May 7th, after Kamoshida confesses his crimes at Shujin Academy. While the first Mementos Request is part of the main story, you’ll receive others from Mishima or by building relationships with Joker’s friends and Confidants. To complete all Mementos Requests in Persona 5 Royal, it’s important to consistently raise the rank of the Moon/Mishima Confidant.

Sometimes, Requests appear in blocked areas of Mementos, so be sure to check the difficulty level before accepting. Also, certain Requests require Joker to investigate leads outside of the Metaverse. These Requests are indicated by a question mark (?) on the Requests menu instead of a confirmation. If a target isn’t identified, they won’t show up in Mementos, so review Mishima’s messages for clues.

In Persona 5, Joker receives requests for Mementos tasks throughout the game. However, you might miss some of these requests if you don’t spend enough time building relationships with your Confidants.

Some Confidants have an extra step between ranks, marked with a number like ‘8.5’. Reaching this step doesn’t fully level up the Confidant, but it does unlock the name of a target in Mementos. For instance, after maxing out Shinya’s Confidant to Rank 8, speaking with him again will reveal the ‘8.5’ target, allowing you to complete a request in Mementos. Once that’s done, you can continue raising Shinya’s Confidant to Rank 9 as usual.

Tips For Mementos Requests in Persona 5

Before heading into Mementos, it’s best to check the “View Requests” section at the Phantom Thief hideout. The other team members will often let Joker know if there are still requests to discuss. If Joker doesn’t know who the target is, you can also read Mishima’s messages to get a clue about where they can be found. Once you’re in the right area, Morgana will give you another hint if Joker is nearby.

Okay, so if you’re trying to find a target in Mementos but that area is locked, you’ve gotta beat a Palace Ruler first. Once they confess, head back to Mementos and you should be able to get to the new area!

In Persona 5 Royal, some Mementos Requests ask Joker to stop someone from doing something wrong. For example, the “If Cats Disappeared from the City” Request requires you to lower the target’s health until they’re defeated. Instead of trying to negotiate with a Shadow, you’ll need to choose your dialogue options wisely. If you make the right choices, the fight will end. Otherwise, they’ll keep fighting.
