Whether you’re new to Dragon Quest 2 HD-2D Remake or a returning player, you’ll likely have questions as you explore the world of Alefgard. The game’s quests aren’t always clear, and you’ll find a lot of items to collect, making it hard to know where to go or what to do next. This is particularly true for Mini-Medals and Tombola Tickets, two important collectibles that can be confusing if you don’t know how to use them. This guide will explain everything you need to know about what to do with Mini-Medals and Tombola Tickets in Dragon Quest 2 HD-2D Remake.
What to Do with Mini-Medals in Dragon Quest 2 Remake
Mini-Medal Island:
You’ll begin finding Mini-Medals fairly quickly in DQ2 Remake, but you won’t be able to trade them in until you reach a specific point in the story. Players familiar with the DQ3 Remake might assume you can access the trade-in location right away, but that’s not how it works in this game.
To begin earning rewards with Mini-Medals, you first need to get the Ship. You’ll receive it naturally as you progress through the main story – you can’t miss it! Just keep playing until you reach Rippleport.
Once you have a ship, you can immediately travel to the Isle of the Monarch of Medals. It’s located just off the west coast of the main continent, near the Dragon’s Horns.
When you arrive on the island, go inside the castle and walk directly to the man on the throne. Talk to him, and he’ll automatically collect any medals you have.
All Mini Medal Rewards in Dragon Quest 2 Remake

The Medal Maharaja, located in the southern part of the castle, keeps a list of all Mini-Medal rewards in his bedroom bookshelf. He’ll give you a reward every time you turn in five Mini Medals, starting with your fifth and fifteenth, and continuing until you’ve collected a total of 80 Mini Medals.
Mini-Medal Reward List:
- 5 Mini Medals: Ring of Clarity
- 15 Mini Medals: Frizzle Scroll
- 20 Mini Medals: Morning Star
- 25 Mini Medals: Sage’s Elixir
- 30 Mini Medals: Rabbit Ears
- 35 Mini Medals: Agility Gilet

What to Do With Tombola Tickets in Dragon Quest II Remake
Just One More Spin…
As someone who started playing Dragon Quest with the remake of DQIII, I honestly had no clue what a Tombola Ticket even was at first! I’m guessing a lot of other newer fans feel the same way. So, I figured I’d explain how to use them, just in case you’re as lost as I was!
While playing through Alefgard, you’ll discover Tombola Tickets hidden in many places – often the same spots where you find Mini Medals. You’ll also earn tickets simply by spending or selling items. You’ll collect quite a few throughout the game, which is great, because you’ll need them to win the best rewards.
Tombola tickets are like raffle tickets you can use to play games within Alefgard. As you play, you’ll find different Tombola tables to try your luck at. Winning can get you useful items that make early battles easier, but getting the really good prizes takes a lot of time and effort.
As a huge fan of Tombola, I’m so excited to share how it works! Each game board has five different prizes you can win, ranging from the smaller 4th Class prize all the way up to the amazing Ultimate Prize. The cool thing is, some games only need one ticket to play, while others need two or three. I’ve put together a list below showing you all the places you can find Tombola, and everything you could potentially win!
