As a long-time football manager and avid gamer, I am beyond excited for the upcoming release of EA FC 25 and its innovative new features. The ability to jump into ongoing competitions with Live Start Points is a game-changer for me. Imagine the thrill of guiding a newly-promoted team to the top or saving a struggling club from relegation – the possibilities are endless!
EA Football Club’s Career Mode update, version 25, will include significant enhancements to scouting, tactics, customization, and other aspects. These improvements aim to enrich both Manager and Player Career Modes by introducing innovative concepts and long-awaited fan suggestions.
In the next few weeks leading up to the game’s launch, we’ll provide a detailed exploration of all these new features in EA FC 25‘s Career Mode. For now, here’s a summary of the fresh Career Mode enhancements you can look forward to.
All EA FC 25 Career Mode changes
Here’s an overview of all the new features you can look forward to:
- Women’s Career Mode
- FC IQ
- Live Start Points
- Icons in Player Career
- Youth Academy revamp
- Player Origins
- Social Media changes
Women’s Career Mode
After introducing female players into EA Sports Football Club 24’s Ultimate Team, it seemed only natural for EA FC 25 to introduce a Women’s Career Mode. In this new feature, you can begin a Manager or Player Career with your preferred stars or teams from the top five women’s football leagues. The following leagues will be available for selection:
- Women’s Super League
- NWSL
- D1 Arkemma
- Liga F
- Frauen-Bundesliga
The UWCL will also be present in Career Mode so feel free to lead your side to European glory.
FC IQ
EA Football Club 25 introduces an essential tactical overhaul to the franchise, introducing Player Roles and Team Tactics in place of Work Rates and Player Instructions, which is now referred to as FC IQ. Although applicable across all game modes, this feature shines most in Career Mode.
Using the new system, you’ll have the ability to design custom tactical configurations more efficiently by designating various functions for players. For instance, if you prefer a classic 4-3-3 formation with your defensive midfielder moving back into defense, you can assign them the Central Defensive Midfielder Role. Likewise, you can instruct your midfielders to advance higher on the pitch using the Half-Forward role.
As a gamer, I understand that my characters’ performance in their assigned roles greatly depends on how well they grasp the ins and outs of those roles. To boost their proficiency, I would consider bringing on board coaches who not only share our team’s strategic goals but also have the expertise to guide them through the intricacies of their roles.
Live Start Points
A fascinating aspect of Career Mode’s upgrade is Live Start Points. This feature enables you to initiate a fresh save with the current conditions of real-life seasons. These conditions will be revised weekly, incorporating elements such as league rankings, match results, transfers, player stats, suspensions, and so on from tournaments like the Premier League, LaLiga, Ligue 1, among others.
As a gamer stepping into a new challenge, if Ipswich climb to the first spot in the table by Game 4, I’ll take over and lead them towards victories and ultimately, glory. On the other hand, if Everton find themselves battling relegation with only four games left, I’ll swoop in and save the day, ensuring they survive and stay in the top flight.
Using Live Start Points, you can identify intriguing football storylines that hold great potential. The outcomes of these tales are left for you to discover and shape.
Based on my experience working in software development, I’ve seen many features rolled out with the promise of additional functionality to come later through updates. As someone who has had to deal with the frustration of waiting for these enhancements, I understand that it can be disappointing when a product doesn’t deliver everything you need right away. However, from a development perspective, I also recognize that adding new features after launch allows for more thorough testing and refinement before they’re released to the public. So while it may not be ideal, I believe that this approach is a common and necessary part of bringing innovative products to market. In this specific instance, I would suggest being patient and keeping an eye out for future updates that will bring the desired feature to the table.
Icons in Player Career
In FIFA 25 by EA Sports, you can experience a new version of Player Career Mode as iconic football players. These legends come with their unique stats, playing styles, and roles. You’ll have the opportunity to make history by leading these icons at the club of your preference. The developers may introduce exclusive features for Icon Career Mode to set it apart from a typical Player Career Mode game.
In Career Mode’s debut, players can utilize Andrea Pirlo, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Kelly Smith, and Thierry Henry. For Ultimate Edition users, the Galactico threesome of David Beckham, Zinedine Zidane, and Ronaldo become accessible.
Youth Academy revamp
In Electronic Arts (EA) Football Club 24’s Youth System, there were several areas for improvement, and EA has addressed these concerns through various means. Initially, they have extended the reach of scouts to scan talents in as many as 160 countries. Additionally, you can now instruct scouts to search for candidates in up to four positions and three specialized roles.
As a gamer, I can tell you that the young prospects in this game will realistically age just like real-life players. Their facial features will gradually change over time to reflect their growing older. Regarding youth players, an exciting new feature allows me to have a more hands-on approach to their development. Instead of loaning them out for entire seasons, I can now nurture their talent within my team through the innovative Rush mode integrated into Manager and Player Career.
Every other two months, you could hold tournaments and feature five-vs-five matches involving your young squad. During these events, you’ll have the flexibility to evaluate their performance using their current skill levels or their potential maximum ratings. This way, you can determine if the investment of time in their development is worthwhile.
Player Origins
To put it simply, Player Origins in FIFA 25 provides a background for your personally crafted footballer. This feature includes an array of origin tales, which influence your player’s character and disposition, as well as affecting specific attributes. Here’s what we know about these Player Origins so far:
- Clean Slate
- Great Expectations
- Climb to the Top
- Return to Glory
The names give a good hint about the background stories they come with. By using Player Origins, you can have a greater influence over how your character’s story unfolds.
Social Media changes
As a gamer in EA FC 25 Career Mode, I’m excited to notice that the Social Media segment is now more prominent. It’s not just me playing the game anymore; I have an audience! I’ll be seeing comments on my gameplay from users all over the internet, adding a whole new layer of engagement. Plus, there will be general chatter about what’s happening in the sport, keeping me updated and involved. Adding to this immersive experience, reputed publications will report on in-game news just as they do in real life. And to top it off, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano is joining us! He’ll be breaking transfer stories with his signature ‘Here We Go,’ making every transfer window feel authentic and thrilling.
