All Of Naruto Uzumaki’s Forms, Ranked By Strength

Naruto Uzumaki is a hugely powerful character in Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto series. Like many heroes in action-packed stories, he’s gained incredibly strong abilities over time. These forms give Naruto the power to defeat even world-threatening enemies, and his ultimate transformations make him a rival to the gods themselves.

Chakra Cloak

The very first power-up Naruto Uzumaki demonstrated, and the one most fans remember from the beginning of the series, was his chakra cloak. This cloak noticeably increased his strength, speed, and healing abilities. It started with a single tail and grew to three, with each additional tail representing a greater boost in power. While very prominent early on, this form was eventually replaced as Naruto unlocked even more powerful abilities.

Tailed Beast Transformations

After learning to use the power of the Three-Tails, Naruto began developing transformations linked to the tailed beasts within him. He progressed from the Four-Tails form up to the Eight-Tails. These forms gave Naruto incredible power, and even in his Four-Tails state, he was strong enough to almost defeat Jiraiya in a fight.

During the battle with Orochimaru, Naruto proved overwhelmingly powerful, even surpassing skilled fighters like Kakashi. While in his Six-Tails form, he easily defeated Pain, and although Pain eventually sealed him, Naruto continued to grow stronger, mastering the Eight and Nine-Tails forms. This allowed him to overcome even powerful techniques like Chibaku Tensei, demonstrating just how incredibly dangerous and formidable Naruto’s tailed beast transformations were – few opponents could withstand them.

Sage Mode

After Jiraiya’s death, Naruto trained with Fukasaku and learned Sage Mode, significantly increasing his strength. This ability allowed him to harness natural energy, and by combining it with his Shadow Clones to store even more power, Naruto became incredibly powerful. He was able to defeat most of the Pains he fought.

Naruto’s Sage Mode dramatically increased his senses and overall power, making all his ninja techniques much more effective. It remains one of his most powerful abilities throughout the entire series and will likely stay that way.

Nine-Tails Chakra Mode

Before joining the Fourth Great Ninja War, Naruto Uzumaki learned to harness the power of Nine-Tails Chakra Mode. This required him to battle the Nine-Tails spirit within himself. With his Sage Mode abilities and assistance from Kushina Uzumaki, Naruto was able to defeat the Nine-Tails.

Gaining access to some of the Nine-Tails’ power significantly boosted Naruto’s abilities in battle, allowing him to easily defeat most opponents. While his Nine-Tails Chakra Mode made him a formidable fighter capable of facing powerful enemies like Obito, it wasn’t his ultimate power.

Kurama Chakra Mode (Full)

After fully connecting with Kurama, Naruto unlocked Kurama Chakra Mode. This powerful form gave him access to Kurama’s immense chakra and battle advice, allowing Naruto to fight at his absolute best and even defeat several powerful tailed beasts simultaneously.

Naruto became powerful enough to defeat even Obito Uchiha and hold his own against Madara. His complete transformation using Kurama was incredible, unlocking abilities no one had ever witnessed before.

Six Paths Sage Mode

After meeting Hagoromo Otsutsuki, Naruto Uzumaki received the powers of Six Paths Senjutsu. This unlocked Six Paths Sage Mode, allowing him to combine his new abilities with the power of the Tailed Beasts. This transformation made him incredibly powerful, strong enough to defeat Ten-Tails Madara and fight Kaguya Otsutsuki to a standstill.

This form even let him defeat powerful opponents like Momoshiki Otsutsuki, and it’s still considered one of his most powerful transformations. Only the strongest characters in the Naruto universe can match its abilities.

Asura Avatar

During his fight with Sasuke, Naruto achieved a particularly striking transformation called the Asura Avatar. This form allowed him to create and launch two incredibly powerful Rasenshurikens, enhanced with Six Paths powers. These attacks were so strong they completely obliterated the area around them and destroyed Sasuke’s Complete Susanoo.

When Naruto Uzumaki accessed the power of the Six Paths Sage, his strength reached an extraordinary level. This form remains one of his most powerful, rarely matched by anyone in the Naruto universe. It’s a shame he didn’t use it again after his fight with Sasuke, considering how effective and strong it was.

Baryon Mode

Without a doubt, the most powerful form Naruto Uzumaki achieved in the series is Baryon Mode. He used it during his fight against Isshiki Otsutsuki, and it granted him incredible strength, though with a significant cost. Baryon Mode worked by combining Naruto’s chakra with Kurama’s, essentially creating a new, incredibly potent energy source similar to nuclear fusion. However, this process rapidly depleted both Naruto and Kurama’s chakra. If they ran out of chakra while using Baryon Mode, both of them would have died, ultimately resulting in Kurama’s sacrifice.

Naruto survived using this powerful new ability, but his tailed beast, Kurama, didn’t. Though it was a huge loss, the power Naruto gained was even greater, allowing him to defeat even the formidable Isshiki Otsutsuki. Surprisingly, he didn’t need complicated techniques while using this power; even a single punch could significantly shorten Isshiki’s lifespan, ultimately leaving him with only minutes to live. This ability is exceptionally strong, and very few people could withstand it.
