Players of Pokemon Legends: Z-A will be able to continue their journey in Lumiose City with the release of the Mega Dimension DLC on December 10th. Although details have been limited – we know new Mega Evolutions are coming for Raichu, Chimecho, and Baxcalibur – recent leaks suggest we’re starting to get a better idea of what to expect when the DLC launches.
The upcoming Mega Dimensions DLC for Pokémon Legends: Z-A will allow players to explore a twisted version of Lumiose City called Hyperspace Lumoise. The Mythical Pokémon Hoopa and its trainer, Ansha, will be central to the story, helping Team MZ investigate strange spatial distortions appearing throughout the city. Also, Pokémon Legends: Z-A is changing a long-standing tradition from the first generation of Pokémon games by raising the maximum Pokémon level above 100.
New Megas and Returning Mons Leaked for Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Mega Dimension DLC
A major highlight of the Mega Dimension DLC is the variety of Pokémon it’s adding, including both familiar faces and entirely new Mega Evolutions. Data discovered within the game files suggests the DLC will introduce 19 new Mega Evolutions, like the two forms of Mega Raichu, Mega Chimecho, and Mega Baxcalibur, which have already been shown off. Plus, a whopping 138 Pokémon from previous games are confirmed to be returning, greatly increasing the size of the game’s Pokedex.

- Mega Magearna
- Mega Zeraora

- Mega Tatsugiri
- Mega Baxcalibur (Confirmed)
Among the leaked Pokémon forms coming in the Pokémon Legends: Z-A DLC, the most intriguing are those that can already Mega Evolve. Rumors suggest Absol, Lucario, and Garchomp will receive new Mega Evolutions. It’s currently unknown if these new forms will replace their existing ones, or if they’ll function similarly to Charizard, Mewtwo, and Raichu, which had different Mega Evolutions (X and Y).
Some Legendary and Mythical Pokémon are receiving new Mega Evolutions, including Heatran and Darkrai from Generation 4, and Magearna and Zeraora from Generation 7. It’s great to see more Pokémon from Generation 9, like Scovillain, Glimmora, and Tatsugiri, featured alongside Baxcalibur. The original Pokémon Legends: Z-A didn’t showcase many Pokémon from the Paldea region, so this added attention is welcome.
Mega Heatran, Darkrai, and Zeraora’s Stats Have Also Leaked
- Mega Heatran’s Stats
| HP | 91 |
| Attack | 120 |
| Defense | 106 |
| Special Attack | 175 |
| Special Defense | 141 |
| Speed | 67 |
- Mega Darkrai’s Stats
| HP | 70 |
| Attack | 120 |
| Defense | 130 |

- Mega Zeraora’s Stats
| HP | 88 |
| Attack | 157 |
| Defense | 75 |
| Special Attack | 147 |
| Special Defense | 80 |
| Speed | 153 |
Okay, so if these leaks are legit, it sounds like Heatran’s Mega Evolution is going to really focus on its Special Attack and Special Defense – basically making it a special powerhouse. Apparently, Mega Darkrai is getting way bulkier, with huge boosts to both Defense and Special Defense, but it’s gonna lose some Speed. And Mega Zeraora? It’s getting a little faster, but the big changes are to its Attack and Special Attack, which pretty much confirms it’ll be a mixed attacker – hitting hard with both physical and special moves.

The upcoming DLC for Pokemon Legends: Z-A will add 138 new Pokemon, giving players more options for battles. A large number of these additions are from the 8th and 9th generations of Pokemon, which were previously missing from the game. The DLC will also include the Hoenn starter Pokemon – Sceptile, Blaziken, and Swampert – all of which have Mega Evolutions. Leaks suggest that Mega Evolutions for Legendary Pokemon like Latias, Latios, and Rayquaza, along with Primal Groudon and Kyogre, will also be included, completing the game’s collection of Mega Evolutions.
Mega Dimension DLC Character and Story Leaks
- Battle against Jett
- 2 New Moves and 82 New Side Missions
- Rogue Mega Battles Against Primal Groudon and Kyogre
Details about the characters and story of the Pokemon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension DLC have been scarce, aside from knowing you’ll travel to Hyperspace Lumiose with the help of Hoopa and Ansha. However, some information has leaked. A screenshot appears to show players battling Jett, the CEO of Quasartico, who uses a Meowstic. Since Meowstic is rumored to receive a Mega Evolution, it’s likely this Pokemon will be Jett’s strongest and will Mega Evolve during the fight.
Data discovered in the game files reveals the upcoming DLC will add two new moves, though their specific effects are currently unknown. Beyond the 120 side quests already in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, the DLC seems to be adding another 82 quests – it’s unclear if these are all side quests or include story missions. Leaks also suggest players will battle powerful, unpredictable forms of Primal Groudon and Kyogre in special Mega Evolution battles, which are expected to be very challenging.
