All Shrine Climb Locations in Ghost of Yotei

Shrine Climbs are one of the most time-consuming collectibles in Ghost of Yotei. Each climb can take between four and seven minutes, depending on how quickly you can find the path. There are 13 Shrine Climbs in total, but they’re all fairly easy to find and finish.

Players will find several bright orange Torii gates marking the entrances to shrines, visible from a distance. Finding these shrines is also tied to a challenging trophy. Below is a guide detailing the location of each shrine in *Ghost of Yotei* and the charms you can obtain at each one.

Fall’s Rest Shrine
Charm of Kanayago This shrine is located to the northeast of Shirage Falls, to the south of the region. The climb isn’t that hard, but it rewards the Charm of Kanayago, which is a must-have, as it increases the amount of common and rare metals and black powder collected when scavenging.
Blooming Ridge Shrine
Charm of Amenowakahiko This is right below the Serpent’s Pass on the map, to the northeast side of the region. You will have to take this path while going to the Tokachi Range.
Mount Yotei Shrine
Mother’s Charm Father’s Charm To the west of the Yotei River is a path leading to the entrance of the Mount Yotei Shrine. This takes you all the way up to the peak of Mount Yotei, where you can find two charms, an Altar of Reflection, and this is also the place where Takezo the Unrivalled (Side Tale) ends.

Charm of Izanagi This is to the south of Otaru Beach, and when you first reach this area, you will come across the Nishin Fishery, which is a Yotei Six camp. There aren’t many enemies here, so deal with them however you like, and once that is done, go along the shore to spot a path going through a bridge and a Torii gate in the distance.
Winding Tears Shrine
Charm of Homusubi This shrine is to the east of Nakagoya Spring, near one of the Sumi-e paintings.
Azure Wind Shrine
Charm of Hachiman You can find this shrine right above the Yukai’s Nest to the north of the region. This is one of the shrines that can be accessed through the main story when you are completing the Oni’s questline.

Amber Respite Shrine
Charm of Masakado This shrine is to the northeast of Ohara Plains, after you find the Dead Man’s Tree, where Taro is usually found. The charm here allows you to revive at full health if you have the Onryo’s Will skill unlocked.
Faithful Leap Shrine
Charm of Futsunushi You can find the entrance of this shrine if you ride northeast of the Twin Ponds of Hidaka on the map. This is one of the harder shrines to complete because there are multiple occasions through the climb where you might get confused as to where you have to go. There are quite a few branches that are not accessible until you hook them and draw them closer, so watch out for these.
Risen Fog Shrine
Charm of Kibitsuhiko This is to the extreme north of the region, right below the Great Lake. You have to take the boat here when going to Nayoro Wilds, so this fast travel point will probably be unlocked for you, and you can easily reach the shrine from here.

Enduring Hold Shrine
Charm of Masaka This shrine is to the northwest of Sentinel Forest. You can get the Charm of Masaka here, which restores your health when using Smoke Bombs. This is a great charm to have, especially on higher difficulties, when you want to get out of risky situations and also regain health you might have lost to attacks.
Chilled Peak Shrine
Charm of Sukunahikona If you are going for the Mountain Reliquaries puzzles as well, you can get both of these done at the same time. This shrine is located to the north of Sarobetsu Lake. Before reaching the shrine, you will come across a frozen lake where you have to go around to find a path going up, and this leads to the Reliquary of Compassion, so be sure to do that as well.

Budding Grace Shrine
Charm of Takemikazuchi For this Shrine, players will first have to access the Oshima Coast region. This is the only region that is not available at the start of the game after the tutorial. Instead, you will have to complete the Kitsune’s and Oni’s questlines and progress through the Saito Brothers’ quest until the game takes you to the final region. After a main story segment, you can freely explore the region and make your way to the south near Esan Inlet to find the entrance to the Shrine.
  • There are more shrines in the game, but they are linked to side quests, are not required for the trophy, and do not count as the main Shrine Climbs.

What’s the Reward for Completing All Shrine Climbs in Ghost of Yotei?

After completing all the Shrine Climbs, you’ll receive the Golden Mask, a nod to the mask worn by Higgs in the game Death Stranding. Completing these climbs also puts you one step closer to unlocking the Body, Mind, and Spirit trophy.

Just like in *Ghost of Tsushima*, masks in this game are only for changing how your character looks – they don’t give you any special abilities or benefits. So, the Golden Mask is purely a cosmetic item.
