All Soaks in Chapter 2: Yellow Wind Ridge in Black Myth: Wukong

As a seasoned adventurer who’s spent countless hours traversing the mystical lands of Black Myth: Wukong, I must say that the addition of Soaks to our healing drinks has been a game-changer! Each one offers unique benefits that have proven to be quite handy in my journey.

At the close of the inaugural chapter of Black Myth: Wukong, players are made acquainted with Shen Monkey and various means to enhance a healing potion. One such enhancement involves incorporating “Soaks” into the concoction, which will bestow additional effects onto whatever beverage is held in the Destined One’s gourd. Within Chapter 1, you can locate three distinct Soaks.

In the second chapter of “Black Myth: Wukong,” we journey to the Yellow Wind Peak, a place where one of the “Senses of the Great Sage” is hidden. As we traverse the Yellow Wind Peak, there’s a possibility of discovering four additional essences that can be added to our restorative potions. Here’s a comprehensive list, noting their locations (some are obtained randomly):

Laurel Buds

The Laurel Buds are the first new soak in Chapter 2 and can be found in a container, in front of a statue on an altar, in Sandgate Village. A Rat Governor is guarding it, but that shouldn’t be much of a problem as long as you get in close before it can start shooting lightning at you. Cloud Step will make it easy to get close. The closest Shrine to the soak is the Village Entrance Shrine. You can drop off the bridge just ahead of the shrine and head into the cave on the right, then up the stairs on the left side of the cave and follow the path into the village to find the Governor and the container with the soak inside.

Drinking from the Laurel Buds momentarily boosts your resistance to harm, making the Chosen One more resilient against the tougher enemies’ attacks in this game.

Steel Ginseng

In this instance, we’re dealing with a scenario similar to the Tender Jade Lotus soak mentioned in chapter 1. You might come across the Steel Ginseng Soak while gathering Ginseng, which can be discovered in a narrow crevice, often inhabited by the Man-In-The-Stone figure. The Ginseng is typically located beneath a bridge. If you navigate backwards through the area from the Rockcrest Flat Shrine, it’s quite simple to drop down next to it from above for collection.

Drinking from the Steel Focus Elixir momentarily enhances your concentration, allowing you to more frequently unleash complex attack sequences and powerful blows. However, in most scenarios, you probably won’t require this potion because the Chosen One naturally builds focus quite rapidly, provided that you dodge skillfully and land some basic combos effectively.

Iron Pellet

In the spot where you find the Stone Figure, you can also acquire the Iron Pellet Soaking Solution. To obtain this solution, first, vanquish the Stone Matriarch and take the item she leaves behind. Then, bring that item to the Stone Figure. This action will make him aggressive, but once you defeat him, he’ll plead for forgiveness. After speaking with him again, he’ll offer to open a shop. Take a break at a Shrine and return to him later, and you’ll be able to buy several items from him, including the Iron Pellet Soaking Solution (for 6,480 units).

Using the Iron Pellet Soak, you’ll find an uninterrupted experience as you sip from your gourd, and it significantly increases your resistance to damage during that time, offering a valuable protective measure in precarious healing scenarios.

Copper Pill

In Chapter 2, you’ll find the Copper Pill Soak as your last soaking option. It’s situated not far from the Tiger Vanguard Boss Room, along the path ahead. You’ll easily spot it due to the large bloodstain nearby. The container holding it is gold and has a rat with a shield guarding it. Defeat the rat first, then open the golden container to secure the Copper Pill for yourself.

The Copper Potion functions in a way that’s contextually beneficial. If you frequently employ the Rock Solid spell, this potion will prove exceptionally valuable; otherwise, it might be of no consequence. Upon drinking from it, the next casting of Rock Solid will consume no mana for a brief period, making it an excellent tool for those who often rely on Rock Solid for defense and offense.
