All Special Places Locations in Ghost of Yotei

In *Ghost of Yotei*, Special Places are hidden locations not shown on the map. Players discover them by exploring and performing a bow, which triggers a special effect. While there are many Special Places throughout the game, you only need to find 10 to earn the “Speaking with the Land” trophy. This guide lists the easiest Special Places to find, helping you quickly unlock the trophy and deepen your connection with the game’s world.

All Yotei Grasslands Special Places in Ghost of Yotei

1 – Lake Shitkotsu

From your home in the Yotei Grasslands, head southeast until you reach Lake Shitkotsu. On the eastern edge of the lake, there’s a cliff with a view of Mount Yotei. The Special Place is located near a small tree beside the cliff.

2 – Sarubetsu River

Go north from the Yotei Grasslands and walk along the Sarubetsu River, following its flow upwards. When the river divides, look for a yellow tree on a rock. The sign for the Special Place is right underneath it.

3 – Southern Coast

From the Yotei Grasslands, head southwest towards the coast. You can descend the cliffs below Tranquil Falls to reach the Southern Coast. Look for a Special Place – it’s marked by a wooden post in the mud, located just above the letter “U” in “Southern” on the map and facing the waterfall.

All Ishikari Plain Special Places in Ghost of Yotei

4 – Hikari River

While searching for The Oni in the Ishikari Plain, make your way to the Shikari River. Look for a ‘Special Place’ marker on the map – it’s located along the river path between Otaru Beach and Otaru Hills, near the orange trees.

5 – Rumoi River

Continue north from the Ishikari Plain to the Rumoi River. Then, head to the flower field nearby and find the rock overlooking the dead tree in the river, surrounded by purple flowers – that’s where you’ll find this special location.

All Tokachi Range Special Places in Ghost of Yotei

6 – Huranui’s Rest Inn

Head north through the Tokachi Range. Between the Ohara Plains and Moiwa Grotto, you’ll see Huraui’s Rest Inn right by the river. A little further north from the inn, nestled between the river branches on the shore, is a very special spot.

7 – Amber Respite Shrine

To find the Amber Respite Shrine, head west in the Tokachi Range, past Ubari Lake and the Ohara Plain. Look for the white torii gate marking the entrance. Nearby, before the waterfall, you’ll find a hidden spot on a rock ledge that you can swim to.

All Nayoro Wilds Special Places in Ghost of Yotei

8 – Cukpet Hills

Once you’ve talked to Huci north of the Tokachi Range, take the ferry across the Great Lake to reach the Nayoro Wilds and start looking for The Kitsune. When you arrive, go to the southernmost part of the Cukpet Hills. You’ll find an abandoned camp marked by a signpost labeled “Special Place” – look for it near an old tree, right below the letter “P” in “Cukpet” on your map.

All Teshio Ridge Special Places in Ghost of Yotei

9 – Sakuru Woods

Travel north through the snowy Nayoro Wilds to get to Teshio Ridge. From there, go to the eastern part of the Sakuru Woods. Inside the woods, head north from where the letter “D” appears in “Woods” on the map, until you reach the cold lake. You’ll find the Special Post on a rock near the lake.

All Oshima Coast Special Places in Ghost of Yotei

10 – Seianji Temple

You’ll be able to visit Oshima Coast once you’ve finished both ‘The Oni’ and ‘The Kitsune’ stories. After that, travel with your companions to Oshima Coast to continue the adventure. Once there, head southwest, far west of the Orito Forest. Follow the waterfalls and rivers of the Otsuki River going northwest until you reach the Seianji Temple, which is up a long set of stairs. At the temple, go left towards the waterfall to find a hidden area below it.

You won’t find any items in the Special Places, but finishing all ten of them unlocks the “Speaking with the Land” trophy, which is needed if you’re trying to earn the platinum trophy.
