Spread throughout the game, each Star of Destiny brings something unique to enhance your gaming experience.
In Suikoden 1, some of the Stars of Destiny will join you as the main story unfolds. However, if you want to recruit all of them, you’ll need to delve deeply into the game world and conduct thorough investigations. In the course of our gaming adventure, I stumbled upon a temporary ally named Pahn earlier in the game. However, once you’ve saved Eileen and have a chat with him in Kraze’s Mansion, he becomes a permanent member of our team.
Now, here’s a crucial point: Pahn has a chance to meet his untimely end if he loses a duel later on in the game, so it’s essential to keep him strong and well-prepared until that duel takes place. Make sure he survives by leveling him up and equipping him with the best gear you can find. Good luck!

– The items in Chandler’s shop are similar to those found in other shops you’ve visited.
– You can expect to find the same types of goods available in any of the item shops you’ve previously encountered at Chandler’s shop.
Kai (Chihi Star)
Among all the recruits, Kai stands out as particularly significant due to his role as the Protagonist’s mentor. When they both are part of your team, they can execute a powerful combined attack called “Teacher and Student.
In my gaming world, I’m usually hanging out at Garan Fortress, a bit to the west of Kuoan. If you’ve got the guts to approach me there and strike up a conversation, I might just decide to team up with you! But remember, before we can recruit new folks like myself, we need to secure the Castle first.
Lorelai (Chikatsu Star)
To enlist Lorelai, a skilled archer and treasure seeker, approach her at the Inn located in Kouan. However, ensure that your character has reached level 25 or above before attempting to extend an invitation to her.
Maas (Chibaku Star)
In the heart of the Great Forest Village, you’ll find Masa the Blacksmith. Once you’ve secured the Castle, feel free to approach him, and he should be more than happy to join your quest.
Marie (Chiin Star)
Marie is planning to establish an Inn within the castle, where you can stay for no charge and even save your game. To locate her, look for her at the inn in Seika.
Onil (Chizen Star)

You’ll find Onil, the town gossip, residing within a home in Seika. Should you engage her following your acquisition of the castle, she’s prepared to ally herself with the Liberation Army.
At the Castle, she will keep you informed about the recent rumors, some of which might concern your current tasks.
Sansuke (Chiretsu Star)
In the heart of the Grand Forest Village resides Sansuke, the skilled Bath Craftsman. Upon speaking with him, he’ll make his way to the castle to construct a soothing bath for you.
He can also be brought into battle, wielding a Saw.
Sergei (Chisou Star)
You can spot Sergei at the tavern in Kaku, where he enthusiastically discusses his amazing new creation. Invite him to the castle, and he’ll construct a lift that will make moving around the expanding castle more convenient.
If you bring him into battle, he’ll wade into combat with a wrench.
Antonio (Chisyu Star)
At the Inn in Seika, you’ll find Antonio, the Chef. However, he isn’t available for recruitment yet. You’ll have to enlist Marie first, as she’ll bring up the need for assistance in the kitchen, which will then allow you to recruit Antonio.
After Marie has been hired and the castle reaches level 2 or higher, there’s a possibility that she might bring up needing assistance in the kitchen whenever you engage with her. If you have time on your hands, you can continue to interact with her by choosing “Leave Now” until she mentions this particular phrase.
Antonio will take on the role of a chef upon being hired, assisting Marie at the inn, yet he’s equally prepared for battle, armed with a frying pan.
Rock (Chison Star)
The rock is located within Lepant’s mansion in Kouan, specifically in a vault there. If requested, he is more than willing to make his way to the castle.
The rock arranges and oversees the safekeeping area, making it simple for you to save and access items efficiently.
Meg (Chikei Star)
Meg is typically situated in Kaku, specifically outside the inn. However, she will only invite herself along if Juppo happens to be part of your group at that moment.
After meeting up with her uncle, she intends to enlist in the Freedom Force, employing a knife in battle. She is one of the few characters, alongside Juppo, who possesses the ability to utilize a Device Symbol.
Gaspar (Chisyu Star)

In the bustling Gambling Den of Kaku, one may come across Gaspar, the cunning gambler. Currently, he’s harboring a slight grudge because you seemingly claimed his most valued patron (Tai Ho) during your last visit here. However, if you manage to defeat him and secure 5,000 Potch in the process, he’ll be more than willing to team up with you.
1) It’s advisable to save your progress before taking him on, as it might turn out costly. After being enlisted, he’ll establish a fresh gaming house within the Castle, offering endless opportunities to gamble and potentially lose even more money, given his apparent infinite resources.
Sheena (Chimei Star)
Lepant has a son named Sheena, who often engages in flirtatious behavior at the inn located in Seika. If you bring Lepant along, he may compel his son to join up with your group.
In this version, I’ve clarified that “Sheena” is Lepant’s son and made it more explicit that bringing Lepant will increase the likelihood of Sheena joining your group (by adding “may”). The phrase “flirting in the Inn in Seika” was also reworded slightly to make it clearer.
Sheena is skilled in swordplay and magic, making him a valuable addition to the party.
Viki (Chitatsu Star)
During your expedition through the vast forest, you’ll encounter Viki, providing your sole opportunity to enlist her aid.
After bringing her on board, she’ll relocate to the castle’s basement and employ her teleportation skills to aid us in traveling more efficiently.
Meese (Chihi Star)
In the Dwarven Village, you’ll find Meese, the blacksmith who is learning his craft from an experienced dwarf mentor. Should you have previously enlisted Maas, you can then recruit Meese by simply conversing with him.
Meese has the ability to elevate weapons to levels that surpass those of Maas, thereby enhancing the team significantly with his presence.
Templeton (Chimou Star)
After the Village of the Elves is destroyed, head back to it to meet Templeton the mapmaker.
As a fellow adventurer, I can’t help but notice your skills and potential. I’d like to extend an invitation to join my guild. By doing so, you’ll gain access to the mystical Suiko Map – a tool that will light up our journey on the world map with its minimap feature! Let’s conquer new territories together!
Kwanda Rosman (Tenmou Star) – MISSABLE

In order to enlist Kwanda Rosman, it would be more effective to imply that there appears to be a problem with him following his defeat during the main storyline. Ensure no dialogue options suggest executing him, and instead, you will have the chance to recruit him instead.
Kwanda is a formidable warrior, known for his impressive ability to enhance his Defense, and capable of utilizing robust armor and shields effectively. This makes him an exceptional choice as a vanguard combatant.
Fu Su Lu (Tensatsu Star)
In the Kobold Village, following your defeat of Kwanda Rosman, you’ll encounter Fu Su Lu – a fierce warrior donning a tiger mask.
He eagerly agrees to enlist with the Liberation Army, but requests that you settle his outstanding 10,000 potch food bill beforehand.
Fu Su Lu, armed with a pair of axes, boasts extraordinary growth in Health Points (HP), Attack, and Defense. He possesses a unique skill called Kobold +1 Attack, which becomes active when Kuromimi and Gon are part of the team. However, his speed is comparatively low. This drawback can be compensated using Speed Rune Pieces or the Gale Rune.
Gon (Chikaku Star)
You can enlist Gon, a skilled combatant Kobold, within the Kobold Village’s residence, provided that Kuromimi is part of your group during the conversation. Boasting strong defense and high luck, Gon becomes an excellent choice for farming critical hits when combined with the Killer Rune.
Rubi (Chisoku Star)
In the Kobold Village, specifically at the Inn, you’ll encounter Rubi, an elf who often keeps to himself and isn’t particularly fond of humans. However, if your character Kirkis is at level 35 and is part of your team, you might be able to persuade Rubi to join forces with you. Rubi is a skilled Elven Archer with impressive stats. He excels when armed with runes that enhance physical attacks or any of the fundamental elemental runes such as Wind, Fire, or Lightning. It’s worth considering these options for his equipment.
Apple (Chifuku Star)
In Seika, you can find an apple at Matiu’s residence, following the defeat of Kwanda Rosman. Should you inform her that Matiu wishes to assist you, she will ally with the Liberation Army.
In the context of war battles, she functions as a tactician, granting you an additional opportunity to employ the tactician command, which amplifies charge assaults.
Chapman (Chiyu Star)

In the town of Antei, Chapman operates his armory business. However, should you visit him once you’ve advanced past Castle Level 2, he will decide to enlist in the Liberation Army.
He plans to establish a armor store within the castle, offering every item available from any armor shop you’ve ever visited.
Eikei (Chiyu Star)
Eikei, a hired gun, can be enlisted in the city of Teien. However, he will only agree to team up if your character, Tir, reaches level 40 or above.
After being enlisted, Eikei proves himself as a formidable physical combatant, excelling across all categories apart from magic. He neither lacks nor boasts exceptional luck or speed, yet remains a valuable teammate due to his capabilities.
Hellion (Chisyu Star)
The mighty sorcerer known as Hellion offers you the Blinking Mirror, a magical artifact that allows instant transportation back to the castle, no matter where on the globe you currently are.

Jabba (Chisei Star)
In Rikon, there’s a fellow named Jabba who’s known for his appraising skills. He claims he can accurately assess anything, without ever being wrong. However, if you chat with him outside his store, he’ll confess to one instance where he slipped up – it was an item called the “Nameless Urn” that left him stumped.
One can acquire it by defeating Holly Masters, which are found close to Rikon on the world map. Once you give Jabba the Nameless Urn, he will concede, enabling you to hire him as an appraiser within your castle.
Jeane (Chiketsu Star)
In the city of Antei, Jeane operates her unique Rune Shop. Should your castle reach level 3 or beyond, she grants you the opportunity to enlist her services.
Upon returning to the castle, she plans to establish a Runestone Store for seamless rune trading.
Lotte (Chiku Star)
In the town of Rikon, Lotte is spotted outside the local inn, explaining that she has misplaced her cat. Interestingly, a cat can also be seen hanging around the inn in Kaku. You might guide it towards a narrow lane to the south of the inn there.
Engage with it to capture it, afterward return it to Lotte, and she’ll accompany you. She possesses remarkable magical abilities that shine when combined with any enhanced elemental symbols.
Mina (Chiin Star)
At the tavern in Antei, you might spot Mina dancing. She’ll invite you to join her on the dance floor. For Tir to perform optimally during their dance, it is essential that he wears Toe Shoes. You can acquire these shoes in Antei when you initially explore the castle, or they could be dropped by Holly Masters.
After our dance together, she will enlist in the Liberation Army, becoming a potent and swift sorceress there.
Anji (Tenken Star)
You’ll find Anji at the Pirate’s Concealed Spot, but ensure your Castle ranks at least Level 3 before venturing there. To successfully recruit both Tai Ho and Yam Koo, it’s essential that you accompany them on this journey.
As a gamer, I can tell you that if you manage to meet the specified requirements, you’ll get the chance to battle against Anji, Kanak, and Leonardo. If you triumph in each of these battles within five rounds, you’ll be able to enlist them all.
Kanak (Tenzai Star)
Joins alongside Anji.
Leonardo (Tenpai Star)
Joins alongside Anji.
Esmeralda (Chikai Star)
You’ll find Esmeralda at the inn in Antei, but she won’t accompany you unless you present her with an Opal. Opals can be obtained from defeating Nightmare foes within Soniere Prison, so persist in battling them until one of them drops an Opal.
Milich Oppenheimer (Tenkyu Star) – MISSABLE
As a gamer, I found myself in a pickle when it came to Milich Oppenheimer. To win his trust, I had to clear his name regarding the death of Gremio. It was crucial not to side with Pahn, Cleo, and Viktor on their quest for vengeance. Instead, I had to reassure him that he wasn’t the one to blame, and that approach eventually let me recruit Milich Oppenheimer to my cause.
Milich is versatile, capable of engaging in combat head-on or using magical abilities with equal proficiency.
Ivanov (Chiyu Star)
In Scarleticia Castle, you’ll find Ivanov, an accomplished painter. After vanquishing Milich, make your way to the castle and have a chat with Ivanov there to enlist his services.
Ivanov will use paints that you find throughout the game to pain a mural in the castle.
Kasios (Chiraku Star)
In Scarleticia Castle, you’ll find Kasios the musician as well. If Milich is part of your group, speaking to him will lead to Kasios joining the Liberation Army.
Kasios can perform songs from the game for you in the castle.
Qlon (Chiken Star)
In the land of Antei, you’ll encounter Qlon. If you engage him using a castle level 3, and have successfully defeated Milich Oppenheimer prior, he will join your party.
Qlon will announce the name of your castle to visitors, standing by the castle gates.
Georges (Chisatsu Star)
At the inn located in Kirov, you’ll find Georges once your castle has reached level 3. If you manage to surpass his scores in any of the card-matching mini-games he proposes, he will decide to join forces with you.
At the Castle, he’ll continue to let you play his card-matching game.
Lester (Chizou Star)
Drop by Kirov and step into the houses on either side of Sarah (the one doing laundry). Give a try to the simmering stew in each kitchen. Afterward, head to the house close to the dock in the south to enlist his aid. Keep in mind that it’s best to do this after you’ve enlisted Antonio, as recruiting Lester initially might stop Marie from discussing her need for help with cooking.
Can only be recruited once the castle is level 3 or higher.
Sarah (Chisou Star)
To enlist Sarah, you must embark on a brief errand. First, interact with her when you have reached Castle Level 3. Then, head to the Kirov item shop and purchase sugar. At the Inn, speak to a villager to exchange the sugar for a Yardstick. Deliver this Yardstick to the villager near Sarah to acquire salt. After that, bring the salt to a villager at the item shop in exchange for soy sauce. Proceed to the armor shop and find a villager who will swap the soy sauce for soap. Finally, hand over the soap to Sarah to secure her recruitment.
Sarah is decent at magic and has a long-range weapon, making her a perfect back-row unit.
Blackman (Chitou Star)

In the decayed city of Kalekka, you may locate Blackman. He’ll propose joining your party should you approach him carefully, ensuring not to trample on his plants. If you happen to accidentally do so, simply leave the village and re-enter to reset the situation.
Blackman is a strong fighter.
Kage (Teni Star)
Kage can be met at the Secret Factory, where he’ll offer his services in exchange for 20,000 Potch.
As a Ninja, he is tremendously useful in War Battles, and is also very fast.

Ledon (Chido Star)
Ledon can be recruited by speaking to him outside the Secret Factory right after you arrive.
Melodye (Chisa Star)
In the southwest part of Kirov, you’ll discover Melodye. She’ll join you when you possess the Sound Orb in your items.
In the dilapidated town of Kalekka, you’ll discover the Sound Orb hidden within one of the houses, tucked away inside a chest. With trinkets found along the way, Melodye has the ability to modify the sounds coming from your windows.
Kirke (Chihei Star)
At Fort Lorimar is where you’ll find Kirke; he had previously worked there as a gravedigger. To enlist his services, simply engage him in conversation right here.
Marco (Chitai Star)

Marco is situated within the Warrior’s Village, ready to propose a contest to you. If you manage to win 5,000 Potch from him, he will accompany you to the castle.
Moose (Chikyou Star)
You can enlist a moose character by conversing with him at the Weapon Shop within the Warrior’s Village, provided that you have Maas, Meese, and Mose in your group.
He’s an even more skilled blacksmith, who can raise weapons to a higher level than the other three.
Zen (Chikei Star)
The Zen master resides behind Qlon temple, close to the mouth of the cave. You can summon him with Red, Blue, and Yellow Blossom Seeds, provided that your fortress attains at least Level 3.
From the Teien, Warrior’s Village, and Rikon marketplaces, you can acquire flower seeds. Should you have previously been there, you may as well purchase these seeds at the castle’s item store.
Morgan (Chian Star)
Within the confines of Qlon Temple, you’ll come across Morgan. If your Castle surpasses level 3, he’ll request to team up with you.
Quincy (Chiyu Star)
At Garan Fortress, you’ll find Quincy the Hunter. However, he won’t join your party until you’ve gathered a minimum of 80 active recruits, excluding any deceased or temporarily absent characters due to storyline reasons.
Hugo (Chisui Star)
Hugo is located at Qlon Temple, however, he won’t accompany you unless you retrieve the War Scroll for him and establish a Castle of at least Level 3. You can find this War Scroll within the Cave of the Past, hidden inside a treasure chest.
Upon joining the team, I’ll be responsible for overseeing our library, providing you access to the vintage books you’ve amassed.
Window (Chisu Star)
In Warrior’s Village’s Item Shop, you can purchase a Window, but it requires a level 3 castle and the Window Orb for it to be accessible. The Window Rune is tucked away in the Cave of the Past, hidden within a secret room. To locate this secret room, follow the concealed pathway in the southern wall, which will lead you to a chest containing the Window Orb, as depicted in the image above.
Clive (Tensyo Star)
After reaching Level 4 Castle, keep entering and leaving the town of Rikon casually until character Clive unexpectedly appears inside the Inn. Engage in conversation with him there to secure his recruitment.
Crowley (Chizen Star)
Crowley can be found concealed within a clandestine corridor, nestled deep within the Cave of Yesteryears. When your castle has reached level 4, he will consent to ally with you. He is an incredibly potent sorcerer, making him more than worth the pursuit.
Pesmerga (Teni Star)
You’ll find the Pesmerga units stationed on top of Neclord’s Castle, ready to ally with you if your own castle reaches level 4. Strong in both health points (HP) and defensive capabilities, the Pesmerga may lack agility compared to other units.
In this rephrased version, I attempted to maintain the original meaning while simplifying the language for a more accessible read.
Leon Silverberg (Chikai Star)
In the town of Kalekka, you can locate Leon Silverberg, however, he will agree to meet with you only if you present a request for assistance from Mathiu.
To obtain this letter, you must first converse with him, followed by a chat with Mathiu once his castle has reached level 4. However, this can only occur when Mathiu is not engrossed in a story event.
1. The deadline for receiving the letter and recruiting Leon is just prior to the Moravia Castle Mission, or immediately preceding the initial clash with Sonya Shulen’s army.
2. You must get the letter and recruit Leon no later than the eve of the Moravia Castle Mission, which is before the first fight against Sonya Shulen’s troops.
3. To secure both the letter and Leon for your team, you should do so by the time leading up to the Moravia Castle Mission, specifically before you engage in battle with Sonya Shulen’s army.
4. The latest point in time for obtaining the letter and Leon is on the night preceding the Moravia Castle Mission, which is right before your first encounter with Sonya Shulen’s forces.
5. Recruiting Leon and receiving the letter should be completed no later than the day prior to the Moravia Castle Mission, which takes place just before you face Sonya Shulen’s army in battle.
6. The cutoff for obtaining both the letter and Leon is on the eve of the Moravia Castle Mission, specifically before engaging with Sonya Shulen’s troops for the first time.
Fuma (Chikou Star)
You’ll discover Fuma secretly tucked away in the top-right region, outside the Dragon Knights’ Fortress, only after your fortress has reached at least level 3. To enlist his services, simply have a chat with him.
Kreutz (Tenku Star)

Mace (Chiko Star)

In simpler terms, Mace is an exceptional blacksmith within the game, able to elevate any weapon to its maximum potential. To bring him into your team, you’ll have to visit his home located in Seek Valley, and ensure that Maas, Meese, Moose, and Mose are part of your party. Additionally, you will need a castle of level 4 or higher.
The optimal moments to bring him into your team are either the eve of the mission at Moravia Castle, or prior to concluding the mission at Shasarazade. This is because you’ll need to have four open positions within your party for his recruitment.
Vincent (Chichin Star)
You can recruit Vincent after talking to him on the upper level of Moravia Castle, following your successful rescue of both Warren and Victor.
Maximillian (Chii Star) – MISSABLE
When you reach the Northern Checkpoint, Maximillian will propose joining the Liberation Army. If he has helped you save Warren and Victor earlier, consider accepting his proposal to enlist him in our cause.
Sancho (Chiei Star) – MISSABLE
