As a seasoned veteran of the Clash Royale arena, I’ve seen my fair share of cards come and go, but none have left quite the impact that these super variants have. The Super Lava Hound, with its double trouble strategy, is a beast on the battlefield, reminding me of when I had two pesky younger siblings tagging along everywhere I went!
In simpler terms, Clash Royale is a well-balanced game that continually adjusts its strategy landscape, or “meta”. Although the creators frequently introduce balance updates to ensure fairness, they occasionally surprise us with temporary challenges and events where traditional rules don’t apply.
In Clash Royale, Super Cards are exceptional versions of regular cards that offer unique skills and effects. You can use these during specific events. Over time, many cards have received this special upgrade, and we’ve gathered them all in one place so you can explore them.
An Overview of All the Super Cards in Clash Royale
In the Super Mega Draft Event of Clash Royale, a total of ten exceptional cards, known as “super cards,” can be found. Let me explain what each one does:
Super Ice Golem
In Clash Royale, the Ice Golem is an exceptional card choice for cycling decks because it lets you maneuver your opponents’ troops while maintaining a favorable elixir exchange – however, the Super Ice Golem isn’t quite as effective.
As someone who’s been a passionate gamer for over two decades now, I can confidently say that the Super Ice Golem is one of my favorite cards to use in Clash Royale. Coming from the original Ice Golem, it boasts a significantly larger model and increased HP, making it an excellent win condition in many situations. Its unique ability to freeze the entire arena upon death is particularly handy when facing swarm-heavy decks, as it instantly eliminates troops like Skeletons or Bats that are on just one hit point. It’s a versatile card that adds depth to gameplay and can turn the tide of battle in your favor. I highly recommend giving it a try if you haven’t already!
Destroying the Super Ice Golem with its “Death Freeze” ability will trigger the opponent’s King Tower, significantly increasing the difficulty in constructing future offensive pushes.
Santa Hog Rider
In the popular game Clash Royale, Santa-clad Hog Rider is a delightful spinoff character. Adorned with a festive Santa hat, this endearing figure gallops towards the adversary’s tower, scattering small gifts as he goes. These presents don’t have any immediate effect, but when other troops happen to pass by them, the gifts magically transform into various spells.
You can get four spells this way: Clone, Heal, Rage, and Invisibility. The card costs five elixirs and has more HP and Damage compared to the regular Hog Rider. With some cheap troops, you can use this super variant to make a beefed-up Hog Rider cycle deck for the event.
The invisibility spell is unusually powerful because it persists, remaining effective, even as your forces engage the opposition.
Super Magic Archer
In Clash Royale, the superior version of the Magic Archer doesn’t inflict damage directly. Yet, its exceptional ability makes it one of the most lethal super cards. This card fires an arrow that pierces through, similar to the standard Magic Archer. Here’s the twist: any enemy unit struck by the Super Magic Archer transforms into your allies, ready to attack the enemy troops and towers.
Not only can enemy soldiers become allies, but even towers can change allegiance! When the Super Magic Archer strikes an enemy tower, it will defect and begin assaulting the King Tower instead. Deploying the Super Magic Archer requires five elixirs.
The effect lasts until the enemy troops hit the converted unit or tower.
Super Witch
The Super Witch character in the game possesses the powers of all three witches: it summons skeletons similar to those from the standard Witch card, calls two bats as the Night Witch does, and inflicts a curse on enemy units like the Mother Witch, turning them into Cursed Hogs upon death.
The card costs six elixirs and has more Hit Points than all the other Witches. She won’t die to Poison or Fireball, but Lightning or Rocket can take her out instantly. Countering this version of the Witch is pretty difficult without the right card in your deck.
Super Archers
In a different twist, Super Archers boast their strength not from damage infliction but through their impactful abilities. To start, these elite archers boast superior statistics, making them resilient against both arrow and fireball attacks. Additionally, they mirror the Magic Archer with their piercing arrow shots. Each strike also spawns mini-tornadoes, pushing back enemy troops.
Super Archers are amazing at defense, since the card only costs three elixirs.
Super Mini Pekka
The Mini Pekka is already a pretty excellent mini tank, but its super variant can win you the game solo. The unique effect of the Super Mini Pekka is that it can destroy anything, whether it’s buildings, towers, or even massive tanks, in one single hit. On top of that, as it runs across the arena, it will drop Pancakes that’ll heal it and the allies nearby.
To defeat this card effectively, you’ll need a horde of small troops. This card requires five Elixir to play, and if it strikes the King Tower once, it immediately results in a triple crown win for the opponent.
When you notice an adversary’s Super Mini Pekka heading towards your tower, always avoid using Tornado for the defense of your King Tower.
Super Lava Hound
In the thrilling world of Clash Royale, I found myself utterly captivated by none other than the Super Lava Hound – a card that ignited my passion for this game since its inception in 2022. Unlike its regular counterpart, this supercharged beast doesn’t split into puppies upon demise; instead, it leaves behind two miniature Lava Hounds to continue wreaking havoc on the battlefield. And when the Super Lava Hound falls, it unleashes a small area-of-effect explosion, dealing damage to any troops unfortunate enough to be in close proximity.
As a dedicated fan, let me clarify something about those smaller Lava Hounds: don’t underestimate their durability just because of their size; they are just as tough as the original one. Interestingly, when these smaller ones bite the dust, they each give birth to four Lava Pups.
As a long-time player of Clash Royale, I can confidently say that this card is one of the best supers for beatdown decks. With eight elixirs needed to deploy it, every use counts and the impact on the battlefield is significant. This card has saved me countless times in tough matches, making it an essential addition to my deck. Whether you’re a casual player or a seasoned veteran, I highly recommend giving this card a try if you’re looking to take your beatdown game to the next level!
Party Rocket
The Party Rocket card is another unique super variant that, unlike the normal Rocket, doesn’t do any damage. But its unique effect is what makes this card so good.
Similar to a standard Rocket, it’s a spell card that affects both airborne and ground forces simultaneously. Upon landing, the Party Rocket triggers an Area of Effect (AOE) that transforms any units within its radius into friendly Goblins, who then proceed to attack enemy towers and troops. This transformation even applies to your own troops unlucky enough to be hit by the Party Rocket.
As a gamer, I’ve found that using the Party Rocket alongside the Tornado can unleash a horde of goblins straight at the enemy tower. These little guys charge right down the lane, causing some serious damage!
Party Hut
1. Option: The Party Hut is a brand new, powerful card variant that’s entered the competition and may be the most unbalanced without appropriate countermeasures. It takes aspects from every Goblin card in the game, while operating similarly to the X-Bow.
1. The Party Goblin Hut has the ability to attack enemy units and structures from your side of the battlefield due to the presence of a Dart Goblin on its rooftop. Once it is defeated or its time expires, it produces a Goblin Brawler, three regular Goblins, and three Spear Goblins.
The Party Hut costs six elixirs to deploy.
Wizard Trio
By uniting the abilities of three Wizards together, you get the mighty Wizard Trio. First appearing in the Magical Trio event within Clash Royale, this seven-elixir card places the Wizard, Ice Wizard, and Electro Wizard side by side on the battlefield.
The Wizard Trio may not possess special powers like other superior cards, but their combined destructive force can easily overpower any force the opponent assembles. When deployed with a tank protecting them, these wizards significantly amplify their power.
Mega Knight is an effective counter against this card.
In the Clash Royale arena, players can anticipate the introduction of fresh, powerful versions of their favorite cards with frequent updates. It would certainly be intriguing to observe how these new cards are incorporated into strategic decks by skilled players on the trophy road.
