As you move towards the Reanimation area in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5, you’ll encounter a room with a large, eye-catching machine. Your new goal will be to locate three Memories, which are saved on electronic chips hidden throughout the area. You must find all three Memories and experience the tragic stories of the Playtime Co. victims to unlock the door code and continue the game.
What are Memories & How to Use Them in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5
Okay, so in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5, you’ve gotta hunt down three memory chips hidden around the place. Once you find them, you need to slot each one into the readers – those terminal things you’ll find. Then, the really cool part – you climb into this huge machine and pull a lever to actually see what’s on the chip. It’s like reliving a memory, which is pretty neat!
You have the option to experience each memory chip’s contents as you discover it, or gather all of them first and then play them together. Either way, you won’t unlock the door code until you’ve played all three memories on the device.
Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 First Memory Location
The first memory chip is easy to find – it’s right on the ground in front of the machine. Just pick it up and plug it into any of the machines. The other two chips are a bit trickier, though, as you’ll need to solve some puzzles to get them. Let’s start working on those puzzles now.
The contents of the memory won’t be spoiled in this guide, as you should experience it firsthand.
Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 Second Memory Location
To find the second memory in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5, leave the room with the machine and head into the corridor. Turn right and go through the blue door. You’ll enter a hallway filled with Poppy Gel, and you’ll find another blue door on your left with a Hand Scanner. Using the scanner will take you to a puzzle room – solving the puzzle inside will give you the second memory chip.
Once you’re inside the room, turn Glowby to Blacklight mode and check the red valves. Each valve has a symbol next to it, and you’ll need these symbols to solve the puzzle.
Okay, so I went up the metal stairs and immediately turned right into this open space. The hint to the puzzle is right there on the wall – it’s a sequence of shapes. I need to remember that order because I have to activate four valves, and it looks like I need to do it in the exact same order as those shapes on the wall.
After turning the first three valves, you’ll reach the final valve, which has a lever on the right side. Turn the final valve, then pull the lever to finish the first step of the puzzle. This will clear all the red smoke from the room upstairs, giving you access to the second memory chip we need.
Go back upstairs and down the left hallway. At the end, you’ll find a broken room with a blocked entrance. Use your GrabPack to pull the handle of the red door on the other side – this will open a fire panel and charge your Conductive Hand.
After giving your Conductive Hand the power of fire, enter the room to your left and find the gas burner. Turn the valve to start the gas flow. Then, touch the flowing gas with your fire-charged Conductive Hand to create a small explosion, shattering the beaker.
The explosion will crack the back window, allowing you to break it completely with your Pressure Hand. This will let you enter the room containing the ship model and collect the second memory chip in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5.
Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5 Third Memory Location
To find the third memory in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5, go back to the hallway outside the machine. Then, squeeze through the narrow opening to the left of the boxes. Use the Blue Hand to scan your hand on the scanner, which will unlock the double doors leading to the Conditioning department.
Once you walk through the blue double doors, turn left and head down the hallway. You’ll find a room in the middle with an electricity panel – use it to charge your Conductive Hand.
After you find the electricity panel to power your Conductive Hand, you’ll have to go to four rooms and turn on the projector in each one.
Each room shows propaganda videos used to influence children. You’ll begin with the rooms that are already accessible (marked by a green light), and more rooms will open as you turn on the projectors.
Okay, so I figured out that if I go from the left hallway to the right, and hit those overhead projector things, it unlocks the door in the right hallway with the fire panel. Once I did that, I could charge up my Conductive Hand with fire! Now I can finally burn through any of those annoying blockades.
Once your Conductive Hand is charged, go up the stairs to the left, leading to the office above. Use the fire power of your Hand to burn the ribbon on the door, then open the door to the main office in the Conditioning area.
Once you enter Gracie Green’s office, you can take the third memory chip that’s on the desk.
How to Get the Door Code from the Memories in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5
Once you’ve collected all three memories in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5, return to the main machine room. Place each memory into one of the chip readers, then enter the pod. Once inside, activate the lever to begin watching the memories in sequence.
Okay, so I’ve watched all the memory clips on those chips. Now, the machine itself actually shows the code I need to open the door! It’s super straightforward – just punch that code into the keypad around the back of the machine, and I can finally move forward in Poppy Playtime: Chapter 5.
