All Warring States Crucible Wraiths Locations in Nioh 3

In Nioh 3, Crucible Wraiths are stronger versions of the standard Yokai enemies you’ll find while playing. When defeated, they drop a special item called a Soul Core. You’ll need to advance through the game’s story to unlock and find these enemies, as some are tied to specific missions. There are 18 Crucible Wraiths in the Warring States region, and this guide details where to find them all in Nioh 3.

Tenryu River

  • Recommended Level: 6

You can find this ghost north of the Ikeda Ferry Shrine in the Tokaido region. To reach it, you’ll need to find and activate a Spirit Vein, which becomes available during the Heian era – the second part of the game.

Hamamatsu

  • Recommended Level: 10

You’ll find this near the Hamamatsu Post – Terrace Shrine. From the shrine, head northeast until you spot a house with a ladder leading down to an underground cave. The Crucible Wraith is located inside that cave.

You can find this item in the southeastern part of the map during the Crucible Manifested main mission. Since it’s only available during the Crucible itself, if you didn’t get it the first time, you can replay the mission using the Battle Scroll option.

Maisaka

  • Recommended Level: 19

At the Water Mill Shrine, pull the lever on the side to lower the bridge and create a path. Once across, you’ll find houses and another lever that drains the water. After the water’s gone, go down into the now-empty pit and jump to the Torii Gate in the center. From the gate, you’ll see an underground entrance where the Crucible Wraith is located.

Okay, so when I was playing through the Abundant Evil story, I found this enemy base just west of Maisaka Post. You basically have to clear out everyone there, and then head into the main building for the final fight. And get this – it’s against a Wraith! It was a pretty tough battle, but so worth it.

When exploring the Haunting Caves, avoid going upstairs. Stick to the ground floor and head towards the southwest corner. You’ll see some platforms you can jump across to reach the other side, where you’ll encounter a strong enemy called the Wraith, a type of Dweller.

Starting at the Rimstone Pool Shrine within the Haunting Caves, go straight ahead and carefully drop down, staying close to the left wall. You’ll come to a pool of water where you’ll encounter two smaller Umi-bozu falling from above, along with the Wraith.

I found this cool item during the ‘A Fiery Invasion’ mission, inside the Crucible. If you happen to miss it the first time around, don’t worry! You can always replay the mission using the Battle Scroll to get another shot at it.

You’ll find the second Crucible Wraith during the main story mission, “A Fiery Invasion,” located deeper within the Crucible area to the north.

Keep playing the story until you reach Saigagake. Before heading up the ramps to the Main Hall Shrine, you’ll find the Crucible Wraith wandering around in a large open area.

Starting at the Rear Approach Shrine, go west and look to your left to find the second Crucible Wraith in the Saigagake area.

Lake Hamana

Starting at the Horie Castle – Outwork Shrine, go south to locate a Spirit Vein. The Wraith is positioned directly behind it.

  • Recommended Level: 28

Once you arrive at Iinoya and head to the Temple Ruins, leave through the east side to continue on your journey to the next Shrine.

Okay, so in this new Fated Lands storyline, I’m heading to the Ryotan Temple. Apparently, the final Crucible Wraith is hiding out there in Iinoya, and I need to find it!

Starting at the Juji Fortress (East) Shrine, go north to locate the Crucible Wraith. You’ll also find a Lesser Crucible in the same area.
