The Divine Protectors hailing from Mariejois are a select group, both Celestial Dragons and an integral part of the World Government’s ruling circle. They serve as the top enforcers, undertaking covert operations and maintaining unyielding control over matters so sensitive that even high-ranking marines or admirals find them beyond their reach.
As an ardent fan, I can’t help but be captivated by the enigmatic God’s Knights in One Piece. Each new revelation about them seems to lift another veil on the shrouded truths of the World Government. They are deeply entrenched within a vast and cult-like organization, and here’s what we’ve managed to uncover about them so far.
This article contains spoilers from the One Piece manga.

The Highest Guardian Of Marijois
The Special Enforcers Of Imu’s Will
In the realm of this captivating series, I find myself drawn to the enigmatic figure of the God’s Knights. When the very foundation of our world government is under threat, these elite warriors rise above even the mighty marines and admirals. They operate on a stratum that is shrouded in mystery, guarding the nobles with unwavering dedication. They stand as the bulwark, shielding us from the secrets hidden behind the immaculate walls of Mariejois, a sanctuary that holds untold power and knowledge.
Presently, three knights known as Gunko, Sommers, and Killingham are stationed in Elbaf, upholding a distorted interpretation of divine equilibrium that was devised by St. Imu. These characters hold significant roles within the series, such that even Monkey D. Dragon recognizes that the true conflict will unfold once these knights have completed their mission to restore order worldwide.

Regenerative Abilities Like The Five Elders, And There Is A Loophole To Counter It
A Blindspot To Counter Their Divine Powers

Not only the Five Elders, but also God’s Knights share the remarkable talent for rapid regeneration. On Egghead Island, neither Luffy’s Gear 5, aided by Dorry and Brogy, managed to inflict harm on any of the Five Elders.
Essentially, what Luffy and his companions were capable of was only delaying them with their assaults. At the moment, the three Divine Knight warriors are causing destruction in Elbaf, and due to their regenerative powers, it’s nearly impossible to defeat them.
Despite the almost indestructible nature of God’s Knights, Scopper Gaban, once a trusted ally of the Pirate King, found a way to injure Sommers in such a manner that stopped his regeneration. The means by which Gaban inflicted this wound on Sommers remains unclear, but given his knowledge about the true chronicles of our world, it is not unexpected that he was able to pull off such a feat.
Discovering this uncommon weakness in the ranks of God’s Knights offers an intriguing opportunity for exploitation, which in turn creates a unique power dynamic within the storyline.

A Connection To Shanks
A Discovery That Changes Everything

One of the most jaw-dropping discoveries in One Piece is the link between Fingarland and Shanks. In Elbaf, it was disclosed that Shanks isn’t just associated with anyone, but he has a twin brother named Shamrock Fingarland. What makes this connection even more astounding is that Shamrock is not an ordinary man; instead, he is a Celestial Dragon and part of the God’s Knights.
Furthermore, it’s worth noting that Shanks is not only associated with Fingarland but also has royal lineage in his blood. This association with the Fingarland family suggests hidden truths that could fundamentally alter our understanding of the enigmatic character, Shanks, known for his fiery red hair.
Beyond merely narrating tales of pirates and hidden riches, One Piece also weaves rich background details that enrich its allure. As an enthusiast of this captivating series, I eagerly await the development of the intrigue between Fingarlands and Shanks.

They Use The Abyss To Summon Themselves Just Like The Five Elders
The Pentagram-Like Symbol Depicts Something Sinister

On Egghead Island, the appearance of the Five Elders unveiled secrets about their abilities. It’s now apparent that they don’t wield Devil Fruit powers, instead, they utilize a formidable dark magic.
Upon Saint Jaygarcia Saturn’s arrival at Egghead Isle, he invoked the other four elders via an enigmatic power known as the abyss. A symbol resembling a pentagram materialized on the earth, and they each emerged from it.
In a similar fashion, the God’s Knights utilized a secret method to conjure one another and infiltrate Elbaf. The God’s Knights exhibit a comparable pattern with the five elders, suggesting that they are all members of an ancient guild or pact that exerts control over the highest tiers of global governments.

Imu Can Possess Their Bodies
They Are Just Puppets

On Egghead Island, it’s uncovered that Imu possesses the ability to eliminate the Five Elders at any location or time. Concluding the Egghead storyline, Saturn was consumed by a dark flame, causing his body to age, disintegrate, and ultimately explode, leaving behind only his skeletal remains.
In a fresh disclosure about Elbaf, it’s been revealed that Imu has the ability to take control over God’s Knights’ bodies. Towards the end of Chapter 1149, we see that Imu used this power to inhabit Gunko’s body and unleash his full fury upon the people of Elbaf.
Following the same line of thought, it becomes clear that the God’s Knights serve as vessels for Imu’s wicked intentions. This latest development promises to shake things up significantly, and I am eagerly anticipating the impact of the ‘possession’ element on the Elbaf storyline.

The Fingarlands Are Supreme Commanders
A Legacy Of Power

The Fingarlands currently command the God’s Knights within the World Government. It was the Fingarland clan, particularly Garling, who significantly influenced the enigmatic occurrence at God Valley.
Garling was previously the top-tier celestial dragon and leader of the God’s Knights, but he ascended to the Five Elders following Saturn’s passing, which placed his son, Shamrock, in command. The intrigue deepens as Fingarland wields such authority, with one of their kin being a pirate.
As a dedicated gamer immersed in this epic saga, it’s clear that the Fingarland clan, being part of the God’s Knights, pose an even greater menace as we approach the climax. The familial bond between them and the red-haired Shanks could significantly shape the outcome of the impending war.

Powerful Outsiders Can Join The Group
They Welcome Only The Strongest

The God’s Knighthood welcomes new members with substantial abilities or influence, ideal for furthering their significant schemes. Gunko and Shamrock sought out Loki in Elbaf, aiming to enlist him within the ranks of the God’s Knights.
When Loki resisted, he was persistently assaulted and ultimately abandoned in a critical state, on the verge of death, as retribution for his disobedience. Loki’s resistance and the subsequent punishment demonstrate that the Order of Gods values unwavering loyalty and subservience, with no room for dissent.
Therefore, since a formidable character such as Loki encountered such severe repercussions for turning down their proposal, it leaves me pondering about the number of individuals who might have been compelled into servitude. Or maybe there are those patiently biding their time, eager to escape.
