All Zombies gameplay changes in Black Ops 6

As a seasoned Call of Duty player with over a decade of gaming under my belt, I must say that Black Ops 6 is shaping up to be a true masterpiece! The new omnimovement feature is simply revolutionary – it’s like they’ve taken the old-school charm and injected it with a shot of adrenaline. I can already imagine outmaneuvering hordes of zombies in Zombies mode, thanks to this innovative mechanic.

In Black Ops 6 Zombies, you’ll find an abundance of fresh material and adjustments to the undead mode, offering numerous gameplay modifications for players to master.

As a thrilled fan, I can’t help but notice the nostalgic touch of GobbleGums in Black Ops 6, features that veteran Zombies players will undoubtedly recognize. But for those who are eagerly anticipating fresh experiences and enhancements, let me walk you through the major gameplay changes coming to Zombies in BO6.

Shared door buys

In Black Ops 6 Zombies, certain doors enable you to share the Essence cost evenly among you and your team, instead of bearing it all yourself.

With this fresh addition to Zombies, navigating the map becomes smoother since the concern about who purchases the next door is eliminated. This change eradicates an uncomfortable scenario often seen in multiplayer games, where players are left idle as they wait for others to acquire the door.

It’s uncertain about the details, but we think you can make a partial payment first, followed by your teammate completing the rest. However, keep in mind that not all doors will enable this action according to the Call of Duty blog. To navigate the map effectively, you may also need to accumulate Essence to some extent.

One rarity of Salvage

In Black Ops 6 Zombies, there’s just a single type of Salvage rarity – the top tier one – unlike having common and high-grade versions. Moreover, this Salvage is now personal, meaning each player gets their own stash, eliminating the issue of teammates grabbing your Salvage before you can use it.

Scrap piles, marked in green, occasionally appear from defeated adversaries. You can utilize this scrap for enhancing your weapons at the Arsenal Machine by applying upgrades and ammunition modifications. Additionally, you can employ it to create Equipment via the Crafting Table.

Guided Main Quest

As an enthusiastic player, I’m thrilled about the upcoming introduction of a new guided mode in Zombies. This feature is designed specifically for us, aiming to help us complete the Main Quest Easter egg more effectively. In this mode, we’ll receive helpful tips and hints throughout our gameplay, and each round will be limited to specific stages within the Main Quest.

In this mode, there won’t be any additional quests (like Side Quests) or hidden features (such as Easter eggs). Instead, it’s designed exclusively for completing the Main Storyline.

In this variant, users won’t have the usual Zombies adventure, instead they must explore and discover the path to the Easter egg on their own. To preserve the authenticity of the classic Easter egg hunt, its introduction will be postponed beyond the initial launch and any future map updates.

Save and quit feature

In the announcement by the developers of Black Ops 6, it’s revealed that a ‘save and exit’ function will be available only during solo Zombie mode games. This means players can save their game progress at any point, provided they have maximum health and haven’t been brought down, killed, or are in the process of evacuating. Later, you can reload your saved game and pick up where you left off.

1. Players have two options for saving their game: they can do it themselves at any time, or if they’ve been away from the game for an extended period after hitting pause, the game will save itself automatically.

As a gamer, I find this feature incredibly handy, particularly during games that are interrupted by server or internet troubles. It’s also great for team-based modes like BO6 Zombies; if I ever get kicked out of the game, I can simply connect with the host to rejoin the action.

Ominimovement

Indeed, omnimovement plays a significant role in Black Ops 6’s gameplay, featuring across all modes such as Zombies. This novel movement system empowers players to dash, glide, leap, and tumble in any direction, revolutionizing how players navigate within the Call of Duty universe.

In the world of Zombies, this could significantly enhance gameplay because it noticeably speeds up and smoothens character movement. This speed boost becomes crucial when a large horde of zombies is chasing you, particularly during later rounds.

Third person

In an unprecedented move for Zombie games, you’ll now have the freedom to toggle between playing in first-person perspective and third-person view.

From this fresh angle, gamers can encounter the undead gameplay mode with a unique vantage point. Instead of immersing yourself completely, you’ll observe your character battling hordes of zombies from afar, rather than being confined to a first-person perspective.

HUD options

New HUD options are coming for Zombies too, as players can opt for a variety of different presets.

As a long-time fan of the Call of Duty: Zombies mode, I’ve always appreciated the option to customize my gaming experience to suit my preferences. Personally, I remember playing Black Ops 3 and feeling like it was a step back towards the classic zombie-slaying experience that I grew up with. That’s why I find the inclusion of a Legacy setting in the latest version particularly exciting.

Augments

In addition to GobbleGums, Perks, and your chosen equipment setup, Black Ops 6 Zombies introduces innovative Augmentations, providing a fresh layer of customization. These Augmentations can significantly alter gameplay mechanics, influencing your Perks, special abilities, and ammunition options.

Change Field Upgrades & GobbleGums in-game

In Black Ops 6 Zombies gameplay, you have the flexibility to customize various elements of your equipment on the fly using the in-game menu. This includes adding GobbleGum packs or choosing Field Upgrades.

Apart from the usual Zombies gameplay, you’ll have an exciting new ability: exchanging and swapping weapons with your teammates on the fly! This is a unique feature we haven’t encountered before in Zombies. So, if you come across the latest Beamsmasher Wonder Weapon and fancy letting your buddy give it a spin, now you can simply pass it over to them with ease.

Activision

In Black Ops 6, you’ll have not one but two Zombie maps: Terminus and Liberty Falls. These engaging levels are sure to consume a good chunk of your gaming time, particularly for players aiming to finish the Main Quest independently, sans the guidance mode.

In Black Ops 6, you’ll find plenty with the undead mode, but there’s even more to look forward to at launch! Not only do we have the multiplayer and action-packed campaign, but additional information about both will be revealed during the Call of Duty Next event.
