An ARC Raiders Player Almost Had Their Door Broken Down After Screaming for Help In-Game

A player of the game ARC Raiders got a surprising visit from their neighbor when intense in-game shouting was mistaken for a real emergency. The neighbor started trying to break down the player’s door, thinking they were in danger! Luckily, the situation was quickly cleared up and everyone had a laugh about it. As ARC Raiders gains popularity, it’s understandable that some players get really caught up in the action and forget that their excited shouts can be heard by those around them.

Even though it launched between the highly anticipated releases of Battlefield 6 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, ARC Raiders has become surprisingly popular. Many predicted the game would be overlooked when it debuted on October 30th, sandwiched between two major first-person shooters. However, that prediction was quickly proven wrong, as ARC Raiders attracted over 481,000 players on Steam at the same time. According to recent data from Alinea Analytics, ARC Raiders has now sold over 12 million copies across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and had over 3.2 million daily players on January 4th. Interestingly, while Battlefield 6—EA’s best-selling shooter of 2025—lost 85% of its Steam players, ARC Raiders managed to retain 91%.

There are many reasons why ARC Raiders has become surprisingly popular. It’s a more relaxed take on the extraction shooter genre, and the large-scale ARC battles are a highlight. However, dedicated players will tell you that a big part of the fun comes from interacting with other players. Whether it’s getting betrayed by someone you trusted or teaming up with others to defeat powerful enemies like the Queen or Matriarch, each raid feels unique and keeps players coming back for more. Regular updates with new maps, ARC types, and bug fixes have also helped keep the game fresh and maintain its popularity.

ARC Raiders Player Screams for Help and Is Met With Unexpected Surprise

Playing ARC Raiders often involves a lot of communication, and sometimes even yelling into the microphone. Recently, a player named Dreamthorp got a little too into a raid. While asking for help from teammates, their cries were overheard by a concerned neighbor, who thought something was actually wrong. The neighbor rushed over and, hearing continued shouts, started trying to break down the door to help! Dreamthorp explained they were simply in a difficult situation during a raid – they’d been attacked and needed help getting to the extraction point. They planned to thank their helpful neighbor with a six-pack of beer for the misunderstanding.

This kind of thing has happened before. Popular streamer Nickmercs recently went viral after yelling for help while playing ARC Raiders, which caused a worried neighbor to come to his window to make sure he was okay. Luckily, the neighbor didn’t have to break down the door – Nick quickly explained he was just gaming and thanked them for checking on him.

Expect to see continued updates to ARC Raiders as Embark has a lot planned for the game over the next year. The first update of 2026 is coming this Tuesday and will address the popular Trigger Nade, making it less powerful. While this update won’t add new content, it will include a refreshed in-game store, bug fixes, and other balance changes to improve gameplay.
