As a seasoned gamer with memories etched deep into the annals of gaming history, I can hardly contain my excitement as Capcom unveils the long-awaited sequel to Okami. The original game was not just another title on my shelf; it was an experience that transfixed me, immersing me in a world rich with Japanese mythology and breathtaking visuals.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been waiting what seems like an eternity, but finally, the day has come! The legendary studio, Capcom, has yielded to our pleas and officially announced a long-awaited Okami sequel, masterfully directed by Hideki Kamiya. I can hardly contain my excitement!
In this new Okami project, Hideki Kamiya – the director of the beloved original Okami game – will once again take the helm. This upcoming game is being developed collaboratively by several studios, with teams from the original Okami including M-TWO Inc., Machine Head Works Inc., and CLOVERS Inc., where Hideki Kamiya also works.

In a delightful turn of events, Amaterasu and her companions will embark on another captivating tale brimming with exciting escapades, all set in an authentically Japanese ambiance. As we eagerly work behind the scenes, we hope that both returning fans and fresh enthusiasts anxiously await this upcoming project.

How much time has elapsed since the tale ended there, you wonder? I never thought I’d witness such a day again, when I could revisit Ōkami and advance the narrative with my own actions. At this instant, I find myself overwhelmed by both a wary amazement that this isn’t a dream, and a happiness beyond words.
To everyone who’s tirelessly contributed to bringing this project to life, the friends who stood by me and assembled at CLOVERS Inc., and above all, the countless voices of supporters who’ve stayed with Ōkami throughout the years: it’s your collective efforts that have culminated in this incredible achievement.
