What Is Fermat Kitchen About?
The Fermat Kitchen comic book series tells a story about two teenage boys: Gaku Kitada, who’s exceptional in mathematics, and Kai Asakura, a cooking prodigy. When Gaku Kitada reaches his breaking point with math, he considers abandoning his ambition to be a mathematician. However, he eventually gets recruited by Kai Asakura, who sees potential in Gaku’s mathematical abilities and wants to use them to craft extraordinary dishes. This unconventional pairing marks the start of an exhilarating journey.
Back in September 2018, the culinary series titled Fermat Kitchen started its run in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Magazine. To date, a total of four volumes have been published from this series.
Now is a great opportunity for fans to delve into Fermat Kitchen since Yugo Kobayashi’s Ao Ashi series will be wrapping up soon. Back in December, the official social media account related to the series shared a message from Yugo Kobayashi himself, announcing that the manga would conclude in just two more volumes. Since 2015, the manga “Ao Ashi” has been published weekly in the magazine “Big Comic Spirits”. To date, it has released a total of 38 volumes and is set to conclude with just two more. The series has also garnered significant success in terms of sales, having sold over 21 million copies – a figure that carries great respect within the industry.
2021 saw the announcement of the anime adaptation for Ao Ashi, yet its premiere was held off until April 2022. Spanning over a period of two years, the first season consisted of 24 episodes, concluding on September 24, 2024.
