Apex Legends Back Tracks On Battle Pass Pricing, But Only A Little

As a dedicated fan of Apex Legends with countless hours invested in the game, I was dismayed and frustrated when the announcement came that we would no longer be able to purchase the Premium Battle Pass using our hard-earned in-game currency. The sudden change felt like a slap in the face, especially after Respawn Entertainment had already faced criticism for other decisions regarding the game’s monetization.

Approximately a week after stirring up controversy with new Battle Pass modifications in Apex Legends, the developers have revealed that gamers can still purchase the Premium pass employing in-game currency called Apex Coins.

“Based on your feedback, we’re bringing back the option to purchase the Premium Battle Pass in Season 22 for 950 Apex Coins. We apologize for any confusion or disappointment caused by our previous changes to the Battle Pass system. We acknowledge that we could have communicated and implemented these changes more effectively.”

Starting on July 8, Apex Legends made an update: players could no longer use in-game money to enhance their Battle Pass. Now, they had to pay real money for the extra in-game perks. Instead of spending 950 Apex Coins per season, it would now cost $9.99 every six weeks. Additionally, the Premium Bundle that previously cost 2,800 Apex Coins per season was now priced at $19.99 each half-season.

As a passionate fan, I’m excited to share that the Battle Pass still offers the $9.99 Ultimate option. With this upgrade, you’ll receive everything from the Premium Battle Pass plus eight additional Apex Packs and an extra 1200 crafting metals. On top of that, there’s a new Ultimate+ tier for $19.99. It used to be called Premium+, but now it brings even more value! In this tier, you’ll get not one, but two legendary skin variants, eight Apex Packs, 1200 extra crafting metals, and the ability to play as all legends. The excitement just keeps growing!

Beginning August 6, players have the opportunity to unlock the Premium Battle Pass for Split 1 by accomplishing a set of uncomplicated in-game tasks. Commencing Split 2 on September 17, you will also have the alternative to purchase the pass using 950 Apex Coins.

Moving ahead, we understand the importance of clear and prompt communication with you. We prioritize your concerns, such as dealing with cheaters, ensuring game stability, and implementing quality-of-life updates. We acknowledge these issues need our attention and improvement.
