Embark Studios has responded to criticism from players of their game, ARC Raiders, regarding changes made in the February update, Shrouded Sky. While the update, released February 24th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, added a lot of new content, players were unhappy with some of the adjustments to the game’s balance and voiced their concerns to the developers.
This month’s update for ARC Raiders included a new Map Condition, two new enemy types, bug fixes, and improvements to gameplay quality. Importantly, the update also adjusted the balance of the game, specifically weakening the Kettle, Stitcher, and Venator enemies. However, players were surprised to learn that crafting certain items like the Wolfpack and Deadline now requires additional materials β the Wolfpack needs a Rocketeer Driver, and the Deadline needs a Comet Igniter, which drops from the new enemy types. These changes upset many ARC Raiders players, and the developer, Embark Studios, has since released a statement addressing the concerns.
ARC Raiders Responds to Crafting Recipe Changes
Embark Studios recently addressed player feedback regarding nerfs in the ARC Raiders Shrouded Sky update. A community manager explained that the Wolfpack item was too powerful for its crafting cost. To fix this, they changed the recipe, adding a Rocketeer Driver and removing two Explosive Compounds. This adjustment aims to balance the Wolfpack’s power with its crafting difficulty, ensuring it remains effective without being overly easy to obtain. Essentially, the studio wants powerful items to require more effort to create.

Like I said before, the update on February 24th changed up a few weapons β mainly the Stitcher, Kettle, and Venator. Honestly, most of us agreed those needed a tweak! The Venator was just everywhere in PvP, and the Stitcher and Kettle felt a little too strong since you get them for free with ARC Raiders. But what really frustrated people was that they didn’t touch the IL Toro, a really powerful shotgun a lot of us use in PvP. Thankfully, the developers at Embark have said they’re working on changes for it now, which is a huge relief!
We’ve heard your feedback about weapon balance, and wanted to share an update. The team at Embark has seen many players asking for the IL Toro to be adjusted, and we’re currently working on it. We’re taking a careful approach to these changes, making sure everything is thoroughly tested before releasing it. Balancing weapons is something we continuously work on, using game data and community discussions to make informed and balanced adjustments.
Embark Studios has acknowledged and is working to fix several issues that appeared after the latest update to ARC Raiders. Many players are experiencing frequent crashes, and the special Patchwork outfit isn’t showing up correctly for those who completed the first in-game event, Expedition. Interestingly, this glitch is displaying features planned for the outfit in the next Expedition, which is coming next week. Embark has assured players they will fix this to ensure everyone sees the correct rewards.
