ARC Raiders and The Finals Studio Already Working on Two More Games

Embark Studios, known for games like The Finals and the soon-to-be-released ARC Raiders, has announced they’re starting work on two new games. One is described as being more experimental and gritty, while the other will be a more traditional gaming experience. However, even if both games move forward, it will likely be several years before we see or hear more about them. Embark is currently focused on launching ARC Raiders on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on October 30th.

Patrick Soderlund, who left Electronic Arts in 2018, started Embark Studios with several former colleagues from DICE. Their first game, The Finals, launched in 2023. It’s a free-to-play, team-based shooter where players battle in arenas with fully destructible environments, competing in a game show format. Although the game had a strong initial player base, reviews were initially mixed. However, The Finals has since earned a positive rating on Steam and has been consistently updated with new content over the past two years.

Embark Studios Has Concepts for Two New Games

Embark Studios, the team behind the popular game The Finals, is preparing to launch ARC Raiders on October 30th. Even before ARC Raiders is released, the studio is already planning its next projects. In a recent interview, CEO Patrick Soderlund discussed the future of Embark and whether they’ll focus solely on online games, given the current market’s risks. Soderlund stated that creating online games is core to the studio’s identity, but that doesn’t mean all future titles will be like The Finals or ARC Raiders. He revealed they’re working on two new concepts: one is more experimental and edgy, while the other is a more traditional game design.

Embark Studios might be starting work on a new game, but fans of their upcoming extraction shooter, ARC Raiders, have plenty to look forward to. While ARC Raiders won’t get regular seasonal updates like many online games, Embark promises substantial updates when they’re ready. These will add new maps, enemies (‘Arcs’), gameplay tweaks, bug fixes, missions, and other content.

Embark’s new game, ARC Raider, impressed players in its recent test run and appears poised to make a big impact on the extraction shooter genre. However, it will face strong competition from Escape From Tarkov, the well-known and popular game that’s launching on Steam November 15th – just two weeks after ARC Raider becomes available.
