An update to the game ARC Raiders aimed to make blueprints easier to find by increasing where they appear. However, it seems the change went too far, with players now finding as many as eight blueprints in a single raid. Since the update, called Cold Snap, launched on December 16th, players have shared their excitement online about finding so many rare blueprints. This has led to speculation that the developers might release a quick fix to reduce the number of blueprints available.
Embark Studios has launched a big new update for ARC Raiders called Cold Snap, just in time for the holidays. The update includes lots of new cosmetic items, events, and gameplay improvements. A key feature is the Cold Snap Map Modifier, which blankets the game world in snow, reducing visibility and adding slippery ice. Players will need to be careful, as prolonged exposure to the cold can be dangerous. However, the modifier also increases the value of loot. The update also brings the Flickering Flames event, along with various quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes.
ARC Raiders Buffs Blueprint Spawn Rate, Possibly a Little Too Much
Okay, so the new update just dropped for ARC Raiders, and as a player, I’m already seeing a HUGE difference with Blueprint spawns! Embark Studios said they’ve added more places where Blueprints can appear, especially in areas where they were really rare. They also moved the Aphelion Blueprint—the one for the super-rare gun—from the Matriarch boss to Stella Montis. Honestly, it feels like they might have gone a little too far! People are saying they’re finding tons of them. One player called Stella Montis “broken” because they got four Blueprints there, including the Aphelion! Another player did just one raid on the new Cold Snap map and walked away with eight Blueprints! They’re joking that getting Blueprints for the upcoming Expedition won’t be a problem at all, and honestly, I’m starting to think they’re right!
The first major event for ARC Raiders, called Expedition Project, starts on December 22nd. A recent update has brought a lot of changes, and some players are questioning whether resetting their progress is worthwhile. While it will likely be easier to get blueprints back after the reset (depending on how often items appear), update 1.7.0 now lets players reset their Skill Tree using in-game currency. It’s important to know that you can’t fully unlock the Skill Tree without resetting, as the Expedition offers up to five extra Skill Points. This means players need to carefully choose how to specialize their Raider. The ability to reset Skill Points is a significant change, and some believe it actually makes the Expedition less appealing.
Embark tried to make Blueprints appear more often in the game, but it’s not certain if the current rate is what they wanted. They might release a small update to adjust the Blueprint spawn rate, either bringing it back to normal or lowering it slightly. However, the team is taking a break for the Christmas holidays. This means they’re moving away from releasing updates every week, and will now release them on Tuesdays. Embark will continue to fix any urgent problems during the break and plans to resume regular updates in January.
The recent Cold Snap update for ARC Raiders includes a special partnership with The Finals. Players can unlock a unique outfit by playing three matches in The Finals. Luckily, The Finals is free to play on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, so it’s easy to get!
