Embark Studios has revealed all the details for the upcoming Cold Snap update for ARC Raiders, including the Flickering Flames event and a new Raider Deck. The update releases on all platforms tomorrow, so there’s a lot to discover about what’s next!
This update introduces a new community challenge, a set of achievable goals (‘Feats’) that unlock free rewards, and dangerous new conditions on the map that will challenge all Raiders.
Cold Snap: New Map Condition
Starting December 16th, ARC Raiders will introduce snowy landscapes and a new challenge called Cold Snap. This condition creates a dangerous environment for players.
When a cold snap hits, time is of the essence. Extreme cold can quickly defeat your Raider unless you find shelter or heal rapidly. Keep this in mind during fights with other players – being caught out in the open during a Rust Belt winter is almost certain death.
A new event called Flickering Flames is launching in ARC Raiders tomorrow. Embark Studios recently shared the details in a blog post.
Even though life is incredibly difficult underground – with limited food and frequent power outages – people are coming together. They share memories, find joy in small things, and prepare for the Festival of Flickering Flames, a celebration of hope and resilience.
The Candleberry Bush is the heart of the winter celebrations. For the people of Speranza, this tough plant is incredibly useful. They boil the berries to make wax that provides long-lasting light, crush them for a tasty juice, and brew tea from the roots to fight off colds. Candleberries are also used to make filling stews, warming soups, and fragrant gifts like perfume and soap. People even create festive wreaths from the branches, bringing a touch of Topside’s greenery to Speranza. They need a large supply of Candleberries to host the annual Candleberry Banquets!
Throughout the winter, the people of Speranza also depend on crucial supplies. Things like lamps and heaters not only make them more comfortable and improve their spirits, but also help them stay strong until spring arrives.
As you gather Candleberries and other valuable resources in ARC Raiders, you’ll earn Raider Tokens, which can be exchanged for new items, powerful weapons, unique cosmetics, and merit tokens. While you earn rewards just by playing, finding and collecting Candleberries will significantly boost your progress and rewards.
Starting December 26th, a brand-new Raider Deck will be available, offering a set of exclusive items you can unlock for free.
Our Winter Update includes a second free Raider Deck! Starting December 26th, you can unlock items, Raider Tokens, and cosmetics by earning Cred Topside with The Goalie Raider Deck. This deck is permanently free to use.
