The second Technical Test for Arc Raiders is going well and to mark this success, Embark Studios has unveiled a fresh infographic full of intriguing facts. Although Embark Studios may be new in the industry, they seem to have hit their stride with the distinctive multiplayer shooter called The Finals, as well as the upcoming cooperative extraction shooter – Arc Raiders.
After a postponement in 2022, there’s been quite a bit of doubt about the new direction of the game Arc Raiders. Originally a PvE looter-shooter, fans were hesitant when Embark announced it would become an extraction shooter instead. With a crowded and sometimes challenging genre, Arc Raiders seemed to face an uphill battle. However, many are pleasantly surprised as the game now appears to be on the right path after a highly successful and positive second technical test.
After the April 30th conclusion of the second technical trial for Arc Raiders, it appears players are eager for more. The game’s distinctive blend of retro-futuristic sci-fi environment and immersive atmosphere seems to have found a niche within the genre. It’s evident that players had a positive experience, as developer Embark Studios shared an infographic detailing various stats from the test such as one player reaching max level with Scrappy, and collectively over 7 million enemies being vanquished.
Arc Raiders Boss Is Proving Lethal Against Players
One of the striking facts unveiled by Embark Studios, under Patrick Söderlund’s leadership, concerns a formidable boss machine named “The Queen.” This fearsome creature is encountered during the tough missions called Night Raids, and it resembles a massive spider. Defeating this behemoth rewards players with top-tier loot. However, after approximately 4 million rounds played over a total of 1.7 million hours, The Queen has been conquered just 58 times, while it has claimed more than 17,000 lives of those who dared to challenge it. It’s evident that The Queen is ruthless against both the unprepared and even those who are well-prepared.
The trial for Arc Raiders is intriguing as it coincides with a closed alpha testing phase for Bungie’s revamped Marathon series. Unlike Arc Raiders, the response to Marathon has been mixed, with many fans expressing disappointment that the franchise has transformed into an extraction shooter. However, Bungie has acknowledged that this version of Marathon is still a work in progress, and they are using feedback to refine the gameplay before its release in September.
