The team behind ARC Raiders has pushed back the start date of its first major reset (called an Expedition) by a couple of days. This gives players a bit more time to get ready. The Expedition will now begin on December 17, 2025, instead of December 15, according to a post on the game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account.
In ARC Raiders, Expeditions work a bit like Prestige mode in Call of Duty. If you join one, your current character will be reset, meaning you’ll start a new one when the next season begins. But Expeditions aren’t just about a fresh start – completing them unlocks permanent bonuses that will give you a helpful edge in future playthroughs.

Okay, so sending out a Raider on an Expedition in ARC Raiders is a real grind. You’ve gotta spend a ton of time collecting or crafting resources just to qualify for one. And it’s not just the resource gathering that’s tough – if you commit to an Expedition, you basically lose almost all your stuff when the six-day timer runs out. Honestly, some of us are wondering if the payoff is worth all the effort, but others seem to think it is.

What Players Get for Sending Their Raider on an Expedition in ARC Raiders

- Up to 5 bonus skill points based on the total value of stash and Coins at the time of expedition (one million Coins per skill point)
- +12 permanent extra stash space
- The Patchwork Raider outfit
- Improved early-game buffs for the new character:
- 5% XP boost
- 6% increased Scrappy materials yield
- 10% repair buff
Although some players may not think the exclusive skins are worth the work needed to complete Expeditions in ARC Raiders, the extra skill points, faster XP gains, and more storage space are highly desirable for most players. Additionally, players who didn’t reach level 75 in the first season of ARC Raiders will find it easier to do so with their next Raider, thanks to the bonus XP from Expeditions.

These bonuses in ARC Raiders come with a trade-off: a significant, lasting reduction to your current character’s progress. While this loss might be tough, it should make the eventual character reset less painful. Importantly, your next Raider won’t be starting completely from scratch, as the bonuses will still provide some benefit.
Everything that will be reset after an Expedition wipe in ARC Raiders:
- Skill Tree
- Level
- Stash
- Workshop
- Crafting Abilities
- Blueprints
The New Expedition Window Gives ARC Raiders Players Two Extra Days to Prepare
Many players have been getting ready for the big reset in ARC Raiders, so the two-day delay might be disappointing for them. But it’s good news for anyone who wasn’t quite prepared or needed more time to collect resources. ARC Raiders announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the reset will now begin on December 17th and end on December 22nd. You can find more details in their official blog post.
Players are currently participating in their first Expedition in ARC Raiders, but this is the last chance before the game’s progress is reset. Before the reset, there might be a live event with the ARC Raiders Cold Snap update, encouraging players to jump in and play.
