ARC Raiders Devs Add Duo Matchmaking in the Latest Update

The newest update for ARC Raiders introduces a Duo matchmaking option, making it easier to play with a friend. It also includes changes to how much cosmetic items cost and gives players a free Raider Deck.

Embark Studios’ new game, ARC Raiders, is a huge hit, recently reaching over 700,000 players at the same time on all platforms. To keep up the momentum, the developers just released an update that includes a popular feature players have been asking for, along with other improvements.

ARC Raiders Duo Matchmaking Was Being Silently Tested Since the Beginning of this Week

A recent blog post reveals that ARC Raiders has been quietly testing a new matchmaking system since the beginning of the week. The system first connects solo players and squads separately. Then, it prioritizes pairing duos with other duos, and trios with other trios. The developers note that this system isn’t perfect and players might occasionally be matched with groups of different sizes.

The team behind ARC Raiders is improving the game in a couple of ways. First, they’re refining the duo matchmaking system. Second, they’re lowering the prices of cosmetic items in the store based on player feedback. These new prices will take effect on Thursday, November 13th at 10:30 CET. Players who previously bought cosmetics at the higher price will receive a refund for the difference in the form of Raider Tokens, which will be added to their accounts within the next week.

Every player receives one free Raider Deck to start. We plan to offer both free and paid decks going forward. Free decks will include gameplay items to help new players learn and progress. Premium decks will focus on cosmetic items and convenience features – we won’t include anything that gives players an unfair advantage if they pay.

Embark Studios has responded to criticism about the AI-generated voices in ARC Raiders, stating that using this technology is common practice across the gaming industry. They also believe ARC Raiders is a great entry point for players who are new to the extraction shooter genre. What do you think about the upcoming addition of duo matchmaking?
