As a big ARC Raiders fan, I was really happy to see Embark Studios sneak in an update recently! They fixed some issues with finding matches, which is awesome because I don’t always have a full squad to play with – it’s great news for those of us who mostly play with just one friend. They also made some changes to the in-game store, but honestly, the matchmaking fix is what I was most excited about.
The new duo matchmaking system will pair players who queue together, creating fairer matches when exploring the map.
In an update on the ARC Raiders website, Embark Studios clarified that the new system isn’t perfect, but it’s designed to improve the experience for players teaming up in pairs, rather than always needing a full group of three.
We first make sure players who are playing alone or in squads are matched with others in the same team size. Then, we prioritize matching duos with other duos, and trios with trios.
Embark wants to remind players that the matchmaking isn’t perfect – you might still encounter stronger teams even if you’re playing with a friend. However, this update should definitely improve the experience for everyone, whether you play with a full squad, as a duo, or solo. It’s a positive change that should make ARC Raiders more enjoyable for all players.
Embark Studios Is Also Updating Store Cosmetic Pricing And Raider Decks
The latest ARC Raiders update includes more than just improvements to matchmaking, showing that the development team at Embark is actively working on the game.
We recently released a small update with bug fixes and improvements to how maps work. Today, we’re updating the in-game store with new cosmetic items and sharing information about upcoming Raider Decks.
Based on what players told us, Embark is changing the prices of cosmetic items. These new prices will take effect on Thursday, November 13th at 10:30 Central European Time. If you already bought cosmetics at the previous price, you’ll receive a refund for the difference, which should appear in your account within the next week.
The team behind ARC Raiders has shared some early details about upcoming Raider Decks. They’ve hinted that both free and paid options will be available, but also explained some limitations to what players can expect from them.
- There will not be “pay-to-win” items in premium Raider Decks. Instead, the focus here is on cosmetics and convenience.
- Gameplay items will only be in the free Raider decks as a way to help new Raiders. Inside the decks are items that can be unlocked through progression.
