ARC Raiders: How to Farm Rocketeer Drivers Fast & Easy

Experienced ARC Raiders players know Rocketeers are powerful but slow-moving, as one player put it. Even with the best gear and skills, these ARCs can quickly defeat you in the Rust Belt, so it’s important to be careful when you encounter them. There’s a quest in ARC Raiders called Out of the Shadows that actually requires players to fight this particularly dangerous machine.

This guide will help you finish the Out of Shadows quest or quickly collect Rocketeer parts. It explains how to defeat Rocketeers easily, even with basic equipment, and gives advice on staying safe during these encounters.

How to Take Down a Rocketeer with a Beginner Loadout

Loadout Details

  • Primary weapon: Ferro or Anvil (any level)
  • Quick Use: Hornet Driver
  • Augment: Doesn’t matter
  • Healing Items: Shield, Shield Rechargers, Bandages
  • Ammo: Heavy (at least 50 bullets)

To beat a Rocketeer when you’re just starting out, first target and remove the armor from one of its thrusters. Once you’ve exposed a thruster, quickly throw a Hornet Driver at it to temporarily stun the Rocketeer. While it’s stunned, destroy that exposed thruster. If that doesn’t defeat it, repeat the process on another one of its engines.

Hornet Drivers can be obtained by killing the ARC with an electrical shock weapon.

The Best Location for Farming Rocketeer Drivers

On the Dam Battlegrounds map in ARC Raiders, the area known as the Primary Facility – situated between the Control Tower and Water Treatment Control – is a great place to find and defeat Rocketeers. It’s close to an extraction point, allowing for a quick exit once you have a driver, and Rocketeers frequently spawn there, with plenty of nearby buildings offering cover.

How to Get Rocketeer Drivers without Killing the ARC

During the Husk Graveyard event in ARC Raiders, you can discover damaged Rocketeers, and some of them still have valuable, Epic-level drivers inside. If you’re not ready to fight a live Rocketeer, exploring these wrecked ones is the easiest way to get Rocketeer Drivers.

If you’re working on the ‘Out of the Shadows’ quest in ARC Raiders, keep in mind that this approach will only help you complete one of the two goals. You’ll also need to defeat a Rocketeer as part of Shani’s request.

Fastest Way to Beat Rocketeer with High-Level Gear

Okay, so for those of us who’ve been playing ARC Raiders for a while and have decent gear, Rocketeers aren’t actually that scary. Seriously, a couple of Wolfpacks, or even just throwing a few Sticky Grenades at them, usually takes them down super fast. It’s almost too easy, honestly!

Players are often given the “Out of the Shadows” quest too soon, before they’ve gotten powerful gear like Wolfpacks. Because of this, it’s better to use easier-to-find items like the Hornet Driver or Snap Grenade until better gear becomes available.

Tips and Notes for Combating Rocketeers

Keep these points in mind when fighting Rocketeers:

  • Bring Lure Grenades. There may be situations where your gear or positioning is not enough to handle a Rocketeer. In those moments, throwing a Lure Grenade away from your location can distract the ARC and give you a chance to escape.
  • Use the building peek method. Find a structure with two nearby entrances. Shoot the Rocketeer from one side, then quickly rotate and attack from the other angle. This makes it easier to avoid its missiles, as Rocketeers are slow and tend to commit to targeting your initial position.
  • Hold onto your Rocketeer Drivers. You will need them for the Explosives station upgrade in ARC Raiders‘ Workbench menu.
