Arc Raiders: How to Get Firefly Burners Guide

Okay, so things were already pretty intense flying around Topside in Arc Raiders, but now it’s gotten even harder! The new Shrouded Sky update just dropped, and it’s packed with stuff – more quests to do, changes to the maps, and two seriously dangerous new enemies to watch out for. The one I’m most worried about is the Firefly – it’s a drone that flies around and basically breathes fire! You definitely don’t want to get caught in its flames.

With the recent Shrouded Sky update, players can now work on a new project: the Weather Monitoring System. Building it involves five steps, each needing different parts. The final step requires a new item called the Firefly Burner. This guide for Arc Raiders will explain where to find the new ARC enemies and how to get a Firefly Burner by defeating them.

Where to Find Firefly Burners in Arc Raiders

Handle the Flames

You can get the Firefly Burner by defeating Fireflies, one of the two new enemy types added in the Shrouded Sky update. Like other flying enemies, Fireflies fly around in open areas, both during the day and night, and in any weather. They generally won’t be found inside buildings or tight spaces, so check the areas around the edges of locations on the map.

Fireflies and Hornets can look alike, especially with similar protective coverings on their front propellers. However, Fireflies have smoother, stealth-jet-shaped bodies and rounded edges, unlike the Hornets’ more angular design. Their rear propellers also have some shielding, which can make them tricky to distinguish from certain views.

Similar to Hornets, Fireflies are most vulnerable when attacked from underneath. Their propellers aren’t protected on the bottom, so they can be quickly taken down by many different weapons.

Firefly Burners are much easier to get than Comet Igniters. You can always find a Firefly Burner after defeating a Firefly, while Comet Igniters are only available if the Comet survives. So far, we’ve consistently obtained a Firefly Burner every time we’ve destroyed a Firefly.

How to Kill a Firefly Without Getting Burned in Arc Raiders

If a Firefly gets near you, it will attack with a fast and deadly blast of fire. Just dodging won’t be enough to avoid getting hit – you’ll need to either defeat it quickly or find somewhere safe to hide.

Fireflies are most threatening when they’re out in the open, and they often patrol these areas. If you’re equipped with powerful weapons like the Anvil or Ferro, you can destroy their propellers before they get too close. Remember, you only need to disable two propellers to bring the Firefly down completely.

If you only have lighter weapons, like a Stitcher or Kettle, your best defense against a Firefly is to find cover. Wait for a break in its attack before quickly aiming and shooting. Since these weapons can’t penetrate the Firefly’s armor, focus on disabling it by shooting off both of its propellers to take it down fast.

When a Firefly is defeated, it explodes into flames similar to a Fireball. Be cautious after destroying one, and wait for the fire to go out before collecting any dropped items.

Okay, so I learned that when you take down a Firefly, you have to loot its body. Why? Because you get a Firefly Burner, and those are super important! You need them to make Trailblazer Grenades, and even more importantly, to finish up the Weather Monitoring System project. Seriously, don’t skip looting those Fireflies!
