ARC Raiders can be a little tricky to get into. I’m enjoying it, but even basic things aren’t always straightforward, at least for me.
It seems some of you might be having a little trouble forming teams with friends, especially when playing with people on different platforms. Don’t worry, Raiders! This guide will walk you through everything you need to know.
If you need to quickly meet up with your friends, we can help you get there fast.
Before you can play with friends or join a squad, you’ll first need to finish the required solo tutorial at the beginning of the game. Please complete the tutorial before trying to play with others.
Opening The Party Squad Menu And Inviting Online Friends

After completing the initial solo part of ARC Raiders, you’re free to start new gameplay sessions whenever you want. You can play alone, team up with randomly selected players, or play with friends.
Okay, so if I want to play with my friends, I head up to the “Play” tab at the top. Then, I just click that little plus sign right above the main “Play” button. That pops up the menu where I can invite everyone to join my party!

This section automatically shows you which of your friends are currently playing the game. For instance, if you’re on PlayStation, it will display any of your PlayStation Network friends who are also playing.
Okay, so adding friends to play with is super easy. You just pick who you want from the list and hit the “Invite To Party” button. Boom, done! It’s that simple.
Adding Friends

If you want to add friends to your list, it’s easy to do. For example, if you’re trying to play with someone on a different platform like Xbox or Steam while you’re on PlayStation 5, their names won’t automatically appear, so you’ll need to add them manually.
To add a friend on PS5, just press and hold the Triangle button. If you’re on a different console, use the button that does the same thing. You’ll see a prompt on screen with the correct button highlighted by a red arrow.

To add your friend, first find out their Embark username through a separate messaging app or platform. Then, enter that username into the game and click the “Add Friend” button.
Also, please ask them to share their username, the hashtag they use, and the last four digits of their username. Make sure you get all of that information.

Don’t forget to use the “Recent” tab to find players you’ve met in a game, even if they aren’t your friends yet. If you enjoy playing with someone, you can easily find and add them there. Also, check your “Requests” tab regularly to see if anyone is trying to connect with you.
Sharing Your Embark Username

Sometimes you’ll need to give your Embark username to a friend, and it can be hard to find. It usually appears as ‘Username#XXXX’, where the last four digits are hidden. Your friends will need those numbers to add you, so be sure to share the complete username.
To add a friend, simply click your name and choose “Show Discriminator.” This will change how your name appears to something like Username#1234 – the four numbers will be unique to you. Share your full username, including the hashtag and numbers, with your friend, and they can add you.
Crossplay Information

If you’re unable to connect with friends on other gaming consoles, you might need to check and turn on your crossplay feature.
From the party forming screen, select “Settings.”

In the game settings, go to the “Online” section and find “Crossplay.” If it’s off, turn it on. This will let you play with friends on any console.
Launching A Game

Once all your friends are in the game – added to your list, invited, and have joined – you can leave the party menu and start a new round by selecting “Play.”
If you’re playing with just one friend and want to stay as a duo, make sure the “Fill Squad” option is turned off – it’s right above the “Play” button. If you do want the game to find a third random player to join you, turn “Fill Squad” on.

Select your map, and you and your friend(s) will be on your way to all the loot you can muster.
