New ARC Raiders Bug Makes Fighting The Matriarch Even Harder

A recent bug in ARC Raiders left one player in a hopeless situation during a tough fight with the Matriarch. As shown in a clip online, a Reddit user was revived by a teammate, only to be immediately launched into the core of the enemy. It’s unknown what caused this strange glitch, but it appeared as if the Matriarch had unexpectedly gained a magnetic pull. Despite trying to plant an explosive, the player seemed trapped inside the enemy and unable to escape.

Players have been confused by this bug, but someone noticed the player had a Snap Hook equipped for quick use, which might be the cause. Another player suggested the issue happened because the player died while using the Snap Hook. This resulted in them being unexpectedly sent back to the Matriarch after being revived. It seems the bug is related to the Snap Hook itself. One player wondered if being downed during the Snap Hook animation caused a glitch, preventing it from finishing properly.

Fans are hoping for several improvements to the game, and it seems help is on the way. Now that the holidays are over, Embark Studios is expected to release an update soon. They finished 2025 strong with the ‘Cold Snap’ update for ARC Raiders, which included new quests, a new map feature, and other additions. Looking ahead to 2026, Embark is switching its update day from Thursdays to Tuesdays, so players can expect to see some fixes as early as January 6th.
