Since its release, ARC Raiders has been a top seller, and this week saw even more buzz with the launch of a significant new update. Called The North Line, the update includes a large balance patch and fresh content for players. Players will face new challenges from ARC enemies like the Matriarch and Shredder, with new loot available to collect. The highlight of the update is a global event called Breaking New Ground, which encourages all players to team up and unlock a brand new map.
ARC Raiders Community Unlocks Stella Montis Map Quickly
Players were really enthusiastic about unlocking the new Stella Montis map in ARC Raiders. Because the community was donating materials much faster than anticipated, Embark Studios had to increase the difficulty of the overall goal. Players contributed materials like plastics, metals, and chemicals, earning rewards called Merits for their help. Despite the increased challenge, the ARC Raiders community completed the goal in under a day, officially unlocking the fifth map for the game.
Stella Montis is a new map for ARC Raiders that offers a different feel from previous maps like Dam Battleground or Blue Line. While those maps focused on a broader post-apocalyptic setting, Stella Montis takes place inside an abandoned facility carved into a snowy mountain. The map is mostly indoors, featuring long corridors, plenty of loot, and hidden secrets, according to the developers. It’s also more vertically designed than other maps, with two levels to explore. Players have responded very positively to the update, and it’s already increased the game’s popularity on Steam.
Players are enjoying the recent North Line update for ARC Raiders, but Embark Studios has much more planned. They’ve shared a roadmap detailing future content, and the next major feature, called Cold Snap, is coming in December. Cold Snap will introduce snowfall to the game’s maps, adding to existing conditions like Electromagnetic Storms, Hidden Bunkers, and Night Raids.
The Cold Snap update includes a “Flickering Flames” event, potentially offering players a shared goal to unlock new content. It also adds new quests and the first Raider Deck – a battle pass with both free and purchasable rewards. Players will also find out in December when Expeditions will reset, a feature similar to progression resets in other games of this type.
