ARC Raiders May Have Just Even the Odds Between PC and Console Players

The NVIDIA Filters feature, which caused debate among players, is no longer working in the game ARC Raiders. This change makes the game fairer for those playing on consoles versus PCs. It’s unknown if the developers at Embark Studios turned the feature off on purpose, or if it’s another technical issue with the NVIDIA software. Either way, the removal has caused a split reaction – some players are happy, while others are upset.

Okay, so I’ve been playing ARC Raiders on console, and I’ve noticed something really frustrating. Apparently, there’s this PC feature called NVIDIA Filters that’s giving some players a huge advantage. The game doesn’t let you adjust brightness or gamma in the settings, so it should be fair – everyone should see the same thing. But these filters let PC players mess with the visuals, making enemies way more visible, especially in the dark. It’s not just happening in ARC Raiders either, but a ton of PC players are using it to spot enemies that I can barely see on my PS5. It’s seriously unbalanced and makes it way harder to compete.

ARC Raiders Disables NVIDIA Filters

It’s only been two days into 2026, and Embark Studios hasn’t released the first update for ARC Raiders yet. However, players noticed a strange issue on New Year’s Day: the NVIDIA Filters stopped working for many PC users. While some think a recent driver update might be the cause, the latest update was actually released on December 18th, making the problem puzzling. Some players speculate Embark intentionally disabled the filters to level the playing field, but reports indicate that the filters are still working for a few people.

The recent removal of PC filters has been met with mixed reactions. While some players feel it levels the playing field, particularly between PC and console gamers, others are upset. Many on Reddit are criticizing the game’s visibility issues, hoping for improvements. Some PC players, especially those with OLED monitors, found the filters helpful for spotting dark areas, and see their removal as a loss.

As of today, neither Embark nor NVIDIA has addressed this issue, so it’s unknown if a solution is coming or if the feature has been removed for good. The development team recently had a break for the holidays, but the first update of the new year is planned for Tuesday, January 6th. Shortly before releasing the large ‘Cold Snap’ update for ARC Raiders in December, Embark announced they were changing their weekly update day from Thursdays to Tuesdays. They also stated they would keep an eye on important problems during the holiday break and return in January with improvements, bug fixes, and other changes.

Besides the recent issues with NVIDIA Filters, players are also debating the power of Trigger Grenades in ARC Raiders. A lot of players want Embark to reduce the grenade’s effectiveness, saying it’s making player-versus-player combat frustrating. The grenade deals a lot of damage and has a large blast area, making it very powerful, and many feel it needs to be adjusted in the next game update.
