If you choose to completely reset your account in ARC Raiders, you’ll now see a timer showing when the next Expedition will launch from Speranza. Games like Escape From Tarkov often reset player progress to give everyone a fresh start. But ARC Raiders does things a little differently – it lets you reset your progress if you want to, without forcing everyone else to do so.
Following a delay, ARC Raiders players who finished the first Expedition can now reset their progress. Embark is rewarding those who do with perks like a unique outfit, a hat for their Scrappy companion, increased storage, and bonus skill points. While players discuss whether resetting is worthwhile, a new timer has been added to ARC Raiders to indicate when the next Expedition will begin.
ARC Raiders Second Expedition Departure Date
- February 22
Good news for ARC Raiders players: the Expedition mechanic is optional, and your progress won’t be lost! If you miss the first departure, you can keep working towards the next one. If you did complete the Expedition, you’ll now see a new timer in the menu and can immediately start building your second project. This means you have about two months – until around February 22nd – to get everything ready for the next departure window, going through all the phases again.
PC players have discovered a clever trick to unlock hidden information within the game. By adjusting their computer’s system date, they can manipulate the game’s internal calendar and reveal secrets, such as the date for the next Expedition in late February. This same technique was previously used to find out about the upcoming Toxic Swamp map condition for ARC Raiders, which is expected to arrive with the second season.
Image via Embark Starting a new game can be tough, particularly for dedicated players who’ve built up their base, maxed out their character, and finished all available quests. Luckily, ARC Raiders’ optional progression resets don’t erase everything! You’ll keep all your cosmetic items, story information from the codex, earned credits and Raider Tokens, as well as your progress on leaderboards and in the Raider Deck.
Image via Embark Embark had promised players their workbenches wouldn’t be reset during the recent game wipe, but it appears that promise wasn’t kept. Players who progressed through the wipe have found their workbenches were reset to the starting level, despite initial indications that unlocked crafting stations would remain. This has understandably frustrated ARC Raiders players. While the game’s documentation initially listed unlocked workshop stations as retained, and then later listed “Workshop” among the items to be reset, there seems to have been some confusion or a miscommunication, as the ‘Retained’ list briefly included unlocked workshop stations before that information was removed.
Image via Embark Since Embark Studios is likely on break, we don’t know if they’ll officially address the recent changes. Currently, players are finding that starting a new expedition completely resets their workshop, and this might discourage some from participating in the next Expedition in February.
