ARC Raiders Player Attempts To Solo a Leaper But Things Go Horribly Wrong

One ARC Raiders player learned the hard way that trying to take on a fast, aggressive enemy alone wasn’t such a good idea. Despite the risks – like losing all your gear – that are typical of extraction shooter games, players have continued to enjoy ARC Raiders since its October release. Embark Studios regularly adds new content and updates, but a big part of the game’s draw is how exciting and unpredictable each raid feels.

Players have been sharing tons of stories and videos from their gameplay experiences. Some highlight the competitive and sometimes harsh side of the game, while others capture funny or unexpected moments. For example, during the Cold Snap update, one player organized a spectacular fireworks display on top of the Spaceport Towers, lighting up the sky with a perfectly timed explosion. Not every attempt at a memorable moment goes as planned, though – some videos show less successful efforts.

ARC Raiders Player Solo Attempt Goes Horribly Wrong in an Instant

Players have noticed a big difference between playing alone and with groups. Group matches tend to be more competitive and focused on player-versus-player combat. While solo play offers a bit less pressure, some players use it as a chance to experiment with different strategies or see if they can handle tougher challenges against the machines in ARC Raiders. However, even the best plans don’t always work out.

A great example of this challenge comes from the ARC Raiders subreddit. A player named YouAnswerToMe shared a video of their attempt to defeat the Leaper alone. As many players know, the Leaper is a quick and dangerous enemy in ARC Raiders. It can rush towards players on foot, but also uses a boost to leap surprisingly long distances. For YouAnswerToMe, the Leaper’s speed proved to be a bigger challenge than expected.

The player used a Showstopper grenade to briefly stun a Leaper, knocking it off balance so they could attach a Deadline mine to its core. While planting the mine, the player took some damage, then retreated to a safe distance, expecting the Leaper to explode. Instead, the Leaper quickly used its jump jet to reach the player just as the mine detonated, killing them both. It appears the Leaper’s landing strike finished the player off, and the Deadline mine’s explosion then sent them back to Speranza before their teammate, YouAnswerToMe, could offer assistance.

Players have been sharing their experiences with the Leaper, a surprisingly tough enemy known for its speed and ability to reach unexpected areas. Many also found the whole encounter amusing, even finding humor in how chaotic it was.

Getting to the surface (Topside) in ARC Raiders is risky, with both enemy ARCs and other players posing a threat. One player, tired of the constant player-versus-player combat, decided to try something different. They joined the enemy team by taking control of a Rocketeer vehicle and spent several rounds flying around, celebrating with dances and fireworks. This unexpected behavior led to some fun interactions with other players, and even sparked a new friendship after being helped out by those watching from the ground.
