A player in ARC Raiders found a helpful way to quickly see the total worth of items in their Stash, which will make getting ready for the last part of this month’s Expedition much simpler. ARC Raiders has been out for just over a month, and players are already preparing for the first Expedition, even resetting their characters to earn special rewards.
The Expedition in ARC Raiders is a fresh start for players, similar to a ‘wipe’ in games like Rust or Escape from Tarkov. However, ARC Raiders rewards players for participating in this seasonal reset. To join, you’ll need to prepare your caravan to leave the Rust Belt, which involves completing six building steps and gathering materials. Once the caravan is ready, all players will depart together, and the Expedition will end until the next season begins.
Embark is trying a new approach to server resets in their extraction shooter, aiming to address common issues with mandatory wipes. While many games force everyone to start over, Embark wants to give players a choice. Players can continue making progress if they haven’t reached their goals, or they can opt into a new ‘Expedition’ with special advantages and rewards for those seeking a fresh start. The studio acknowledges that balancing progression wipes is tricky, but believes this system offers the benefits of both a clean slate and continued progress for different players.
ARC Raiders Player Discovers Handy Stash Trick
With the launch of ARC Raiders delayed, players have been collecting resources. However, many have found the game’s interface frustrating because it doesn’t show the total value of their collected items (their ‘Stash’). Currently, players have to manually check each of their 280 items to find out the total. But one player, UncleWhiteTom, discovered a workaround. By changing the date on their computer to December 17th or 18th, they can view the total Stash value in the Expedition section of the game. This works because it makes the game think the launch window is open, revealing the value, though the launch button itself doesn’t function.
This weekend, Embark shared more information about the upcoming ARC Raiders Expedition. Players can now earn up to five skill points based on the value of items they bring with them. For every one million coins worth of items, a player will receive an extra skill point, meaning five million coins will get you all five available skill points. The only catch is that the game doesn’t currently show the total value of your items unless you manually check each of the 280 possible items, so figuring out how to maximize your skill points can be tricky during preparation.
The first major in-game event, Expedition, is launching soon, along with a new update for ARC Raiders. The December update, called Cold Snap, will add a snowy environment to the Snowfall map, a new event called Flickering Flames, a new set of enemies (Raider Deck), and new missions (Quests) for players to tackle.
