Luckily, the game offers strong weapons like the Hullcracker, Jupiter Sniper Rifle, and Wolfpack grenades. However, these powerful items are rare and costly to buy from traders, making one player’s recent defeat especially frustrating.
ARC Raiders Player Loses Gear in Hilarious Death
A player trying to defeat the Matriarch alone in ARC Raiders suffered a costly defeat. After firing a few shots at the boss, they were swarmed by two Hornets – small, but powerful enemies. In a rush to eliminate them, the player accidentally fell off the Dam, losing around 100,000 worth of valuable weapons and gear, including the popular Hullcracker grenade launcher. The battle ended quickly, and tragically, with a fatal fall.
Facing the toughest boss in the game, this player prepared extensively. Their loadout included a level 2 Hullcracker, two Wolpack grenades, two Ziplines, two Jolt Mines, three Barricades, 400 medium ammo, and plenty of healing. They also had a level 4 Venator with several attachments. While a recent game update slightly weakened the Venator, it remains a powerful and popular weapon. Finding the blueprint for the Venator isn’t easy, so any difficulty obtaining it would have been a significant problem.
While the game’s initial run might have been cut short, memorable moments like these are what keep players engaged. Surprisingly, ARC Raiders has become more popular than Battlefield 6, the year’s best-selling shooting game, based on the number of players on Steam. Many thought it was risky for Embark Studios to launch a new shooter alongside giants like Battlefield 6 and with Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on the horizon, but their gamble has clearly succeeded. ARC Raiders has earned excellent reviews, quickly risen to the top of Steam’s charts, and is even up for Multiplayer Game of the Year at the 2025 Game Awards.
