ARC Raiders Players Are Bypassing the Stash Limit, But There’s a Catch

Players of ARC Raiders are finding ways around the game’s storage limit, which normally restricts them to 280-292 items depending on their progress. While exceeding this limit is possible, it comes with drawbacks that some ARC Raiders players are ignoring, as reports show they’re stockpiling hundreds of extra items.

While games like Escape From Tarkov and Hunt: Showdown started the trend, ARC Raiders has quickly become a major success since launching in October. Data from Alinea Analytics shows the game has sold 12 million copies and had over 3.2 million players on January 4th. Interestingly, Battlefield 6, released shortly before ARC Raiders, has lost most of its Steam players – around 85%. In contrast, ARC Raiders has kept a remarkably consistent player base, retaining 91% of its initial users and consistently ranking among Steam’s most popular games.

ARC Raiders Players Are Ignoring the Stash Limit

Although ARC Raiders is a more relaxed take on the extraction shooter style, players still need to manage their inventory and gather supplies before each raid. You start with 64 storage slots, which can be increased to a maximum of 280. Players who participated in the first ARC Raiders Expedition now have even more space – 292 slots – thanks to a reset that added 12 extra slots. However, some players seem to be ignoring the storage limit altogether, with one Reddit user proudly displaying over 800 items, stating they simply didn’t worry about the cap.

While it sounds impressive, filling your Stash completely has several downsides. It stops you from using free starting gear, gathering resources from Scrappy, and buying items from traders. Plus, if your Stash is full, any new items you get won’t be accessible until you free up space. Players are exploiting this by using powerful Augments like the Looting Mk.3, which temporarily increases your inventory size. They then switch to a basic, free Augment, automatically transferring the extra items into their already full Stash.

One player shared a helpful tip: they keep their inventory around 500 items and regularly cycle through it. They reorganized their items by moving less frequently used explosives to the bottom, freeing up space at the top for easier access. It takes a little time, but it’s definitely doable.

Players of ARC Raiders are quickly filling up their storage (called the ‘Stash’) because the game has a lot of useful weapons and items. This is common in games where you can lose items to other players – people tend to collect and keep everything they find, worried about losing it if they die. While the Stash can be upgraded to 280 slots, many players are still reaching the limit quickly, and are asking the developers, Embark, to increase the storage capacity without requiring players to complete Expeditions.

Embark hasn’t officially announced any changes, but with the new year underway, we can expect many improvements and enhancements to the game. The first update of 2026 is currently being developed, and it will include adjustments to some powerful items and weapons in ARC Raiders, specifically the Stitcher, Kettle, and Trigger Nade. The Trigger Nade, in particular, has been a bit overpowered recently.
