ARC Raiders is a great game with exciting gameplay, but it’s had a few problems. Cheating became a concern around the holidays, and it took Embark Studios a while to address it after returning from break in 2026. While updates have helped, some issues still haven’t been fully resolved.
A major issue in the game is a glitch that lets players clip above the map, giving them an unfair advantage by letting them shoot down on others. Recently, players have been seen using this same glitch against those who exploit it.
Don’t Do Ceiling Glitches in ARC Raiders
A social media clip posted by ‘aimkey’ shows three players climbing to the top of Stella Montis to get revenge on… another group of three players already hiding up there.
It’s a strange back-and-forth where players who misused a game glitch are being punished, mirroring the bans others received. Frustrated with exploiters, aimkey and his team found a way to access the area above the map and are now actively hunting down players attempting to use the glitch to eliminate others.
Is it right? Well, it’s two wrongs, and we know what the adage says about that.
A couple of years ago, a similar issue came up in the game Escape from Tarkov. A YouTuber bought and used cheats, not to gain an unfair advantage, but to investigate how widespread cheating was in the popular online shooter. He was making a detailed video about the game and wanted to understand the extent of the problem.
It had some positive results. He realized, with reasonable accuracy, that cheating was happening all around him.
The issue with getting stuck in the ceiling in ARC Raiders isn’t as bad as the previous problem, but it’s still annoying, and, as aimkey points out, it’s surprisingly easy to happen.
In the comments section under the clip, viewers were supportive of aimkey’s efforts:
- ‘We got anti-exploiters before anti-cheat.’
- ‘Y’all just went up there and hunted them down? That’s great.’
- ‘We need more people to kill those guys who are spamming this glitch btw’
Problems like these have always been around in online multiplayer games. Players have been finding ways to exploit game glitches for years – even back in games like Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Some of those spots, like a famous glitch on the Overgrown map, are still well-known today.
