Players of the game ARC Raiders are playfully leaving overwhelmingly positive reviews for a real hotel in Italy called Stella Montis. This started after they realized the hotel shares a name with a popular, and often chaotic, player-versus-player map within the game. While ARC Raiders features other maps like Buried City and Spaceport, Stella Montis is known for intense battles and memorable moments, inspiring players to jokingly boost the hotel’s online rating.
Just a month after its launch, ARC Raiders added the Stella Montis map. This research facility, built into a mountainside in a post-apocalyptic Italy, features a complex layout of winding hallways and tight spaces, making it a hotspot for player-versus-player combat. To add to the challenge, Stella Montis also introduced the Shredder, a dangerous new enemy unique to this map—though the developers at Embark Studios suggest it might appear on other maps in the future.

Players of the game Stella Montis are leaving funny, fake reviews for a real hotel in Italy called Hotel Stella Montis. As GamesRadar+ noticed, people are referencing in-game experiences in their reviews, even though they haven’t actually stayed at the hotel. For example, one reviewer jokingly warned about rats in the lobby and a “medical section” full of “dead bodies,” referencing a dangerous area within the game often filled with enemies and player battles. It seems the community is having fun turning their in-game adventures into humorous hotel reviews.
One reviewer raved, ‘This place is amazing! You can find tons of valuable items in the drawers, even blueprints for the Venator if you have the right keycard. Just watch out for the moving fireballs and the robot that can destroy you!’ These kinds of enthusiastic reviews are fantastic for the hotel, especially since many come with 5-star ratings. However, references to ‘rats’ and ‘dead bodies’ might confuse people unfamiliar with the game ARC Raiders. While Nexon reports over 12 million copies of ARC Raiders have been sold, many potential guests simply searching for an Italian hotel will likely be puzzled by these comments.
The recent addition of the Stella Montis map to ARC Raiders is just the beginning, as Embark Studios plans to release several more maps over the next year. While they haven’t shared specifics, these new areas will differ in size. Stella Montis is currently the smallest and most compact map in the game, but future maps won’t necessarily follow that design. Maps like Blue Gate and Spaceport are much larger and offer distinct environments. Despite this, players really enjoy the quick, intense gameplay that Stella Montis provides.
So, ARC Raiders has been doing really well since it launched last October, and the developers, Embark, have been consistently pushing out updates, which is awesome. They just dropped a patch earlier this month that finally addressed that super annoying Trigger Nade. Seriously, everyone was complaining about it over Christmas – it was way too powerful in PvP! They’ve dialed back its damage range and made it take longer to explode, which is a huge relief. They also slowed down the Kettle’s rate of fire and, thankfully, fixed that glitch on Stella Montis where people were going out of bounds. It’s great to see them listening to the community!
