The new extraction shooter is gaining popularity, attracting both new and experienced players. It’s currently unclear whether the recent server issues are due to a large number of people trying to play, or if they’re just a bad coincidence. Before launch, the game, called ARC Raiders, successfully tested its servers, and the first few days after its release on October 30th were mostly smooth in terms of connections.
ARC Raiders Servers are Down at the Moment
According to a recent update from Embark, shared by ARCRaidersNews on X, the game is currently having problems with its servers, voice chat, and party system. These issues began around 10am PST, causing players to be disconnected from matches and stuck in loading screens. Some players who successfully join matches are being placed into parties with others, even though they’ve disabled crossplay and are trying to play the solo version of ARC Raiders.
Despite recent server problems, ARC Raiders is still proving popular, with over 300,000 players currently playing on Steam. That puts it as the fourth most-played game on the platform, following Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and Battlefield 6. It’s especially noteworthy that ARC Raiders is a paid game, while all three of those top games are free-to-play, making its high player count even more impressive.
Considering the quick popularity of ARC Raiders after its release, it’s not surprising that players are experiencing server problems. Embark, the game developer, is sharing updates on the official Discord, but hasn’t announced when the connection issues will be fixed.
It’s currently unclear if players of ARC Raiders will receive any compensation for the time the game was unavailable. While they wait for the game to come back online, players can use the downtime to get ready by reviewing helpful tips, tricks, and the game’s map of the Rust Belt.
