Players of the game ARC Raiders are playfully filling their in-game rooms with ducks. Though ducks have always been available as decorations, a recent update has sparked a trend of collecting as many as possible.
The recent 1.3.0 update for ARC Raiders included the usual balance adjustments and bug fixes, but one small note about changes to Raider Dens and ‘ducks’ has quickly become a highlight for players. It seems this unexpected tweak has added a lot of fun to the game!
ARC Raiders Players Go Crazy for Rubber Ducks
After the 1.3.0 update went live in ARC Raiders, players finally understood a mysterious note in the patch details. The update significantly increased the number of rubber ducks that can be shown in a player’s Raider Den. Collectors are now discovering just how many ducks they’ve gathered, and are sharing funny screenshots of their dens filled with everything from a few ducks to over a hundred! Many players are posting pictures of themselves surrounded by huge piles of the collectible ducks.
Games often include popular features like collecting items and customization. Recently, developers changed something in response to player feedback. Players enjoyed collecting rubber ducks and displaying them in their game rooms, but one player noticed a problem: while they’d collected over 600 ducks, only nine were visible in the room. This seemingly minor issue resonated with many others, as the Reddit post about it received over four thousand upvotes. It appears the developers listened to the community and updated the game to show more of the collected ducks.
Although ARC Raiders received positive feedback when it launched, games that continuously update need to stay connected with their players to keep them happy. The developers seem to be doing a great job listening to feedback, as they quickly responded to player requests. However, this could lead to a never-ending stream of requests – players are already asking for even more content, specifically the ability to collect and customize rubber ducks in various colors.
