Players of ARC Raiders have discovered a highly profitable strategy: crafting and selling Energy Clips. This method is proving to be one of the fastest ways to earn millions of in-game coins. Coins are the main currency in ARC Raiders, primarily obtained by selling items found while exploring the game’s surfaces.
Since the full list of tasks for the upcoming Expedition event in ARC Raiders was released, players are worried about earning enough in-game currency. It turns out you’ll need around five million coins to fully enjoy the event, leading to a lot of discussion about how to quickly earn money. Some players have even discovered a method that many are calling an exploit.
Turns Out Energy Clips Are Worth a Fortune in ARC Raiders
A Reddit user recently discovered a profitable strategy in ARC Raiders. While it costs around 1,140 coins to gather the materials for Energy Clips, each clip can be sold for 5,000 coins, resulting in a potential profit of 3,860 coins per clip. This contradicts a previous claim by another Reddit user who believed reselling crafted items was consistently unprofitable. They created a spreadsheet showing most crafts resulted in a loss, but didn’t account for the fact that Energy Clips are sold in packs of five, significantly boosting the overall return on investment.

|---|---|---|
| Energy Clip | ~ 1,140 | 5,000 |
In ARC Raiders, you can make Energy Clips using common items like Batteries and Advanced ARC Powercells. You can speed up production by trading extra Assorted Seeds with Celeste for more Batteries. However, you need the Equalizer blueprint to craft them yourself – not everyone has this yet. If you don’t have the blueprint, you can still get plenty of Energy Clips during Harvester events and trade them for coins – you get 5,000 coins per stack.
Some players are playfully asking the Reddit user to take down their post, fearing the game developers, Embark Studios, might discover the crafting trick and fix it. However, the developers haven’t said anything about this method, and it’s possible they already knew about it. Getting the materials to make Energy Clips in large quantities is difficult, and the clips themselves aren’t easy to find. This suggests the developers might not be concerned about players making a profit by selling crafted Energy Clips.

Many players are discovering efficient loot routes, particularly during Night Raids, which can bring in valuable items and quickly generate hundreds of thousands of coins. Trading unwanted items with other players is also popular. A common and effective strategy is to sell a blueprint for 100 Assorted Seeds – essentially trading a 5,000-coin item for a 10,000-coin ingredient and making a 5,000-coin profit.
Methods like the ‘Energy Clip’ exploit have sparked debate about the requirements for accessing the game’s ‘Expeditions.’ Many players worry that needing to earn five million coins will lead to negative behavior and could damage the game’s economy. Some suggest that instead of a coin requirement, access should be tied to completing in-game missions, battle pass challenges, or reaching certain account levels. It will be interesting to see if Embark Studios addresses these concerns and adjusts future ARC Raiders projects to focus less on coin accumulation.
